Reminded deeply of my middle school friend Shani, who's mother was Palestinian and had custody of her and was killed in an Israeli bombing, and ended up being sent to her dad in Israel. Her dad's side of the family told her she should thank God for killing her mother so she could be a real Israeli

They're demanding, among other things, sewage removal and heat and electricity restroration.
