I can’t resist an opportunity to once again share the excellent Eames Office promo film on the SX-70, which is a marvel of lucidity. youtu.be/Lo_1pyQ7xvc?...

2025 was an absolute shit show at the societal level, but on a personal level I’m giving myself a gentleman’s B for effort. Specifics are mostly a private topic but I will say that I lost a little over 20 lb during the year, sharply reversing a multi year trend, and I’m hoping to repeat in ‘26.

Thanks for your inputs, everyone. I'll be checking back later to see what progress you've made.
What are some automotive things you want to do or accomplish in 2026?

I want to make my project C4 roadworthy and have some fun with it.

I think it’s probably good to not date someone who has a different opinion of who counts as a human being.

Everyone has a list of so-called "red flags" when they're dating. And for some, especially younger Americans, different political views is a relationship deal breaker.

Did you waste your Christmas wish list by not asking Santa for a Revell Westinghouse Atomic Power Plant model kit? Too bad, but there’s always next year.

Since we're bidding 2025 good riddance, I'll highlight a few pieces I wrote this year, most of which are about how to keep moving in hard times. First up is this Atlantic story about how joining Amway destroyed my mother and bankrupted our family. She could never let go of it, and I lost her. [1/5]
The ‘Exciting Business Opportunity’ That Ruined Our Lives
Amway sold my family a life built on delusion.

FWIW, I found two articles from sources I would consider trustworthy. Hagery says that, in general, airbags should last the life of the car. www.hagerty.com/media/mainte...
December 30, 2025 at 4:27 PM
On a recent podcast, Matt Farah recommended that people who drive cars with "1st generation" airbags disable them, arguing that they're more dangerous than not having an airbag. He may have implied that age is a factor as well, although that wasn't clear. This logic seems suspect to me. Thoughts?

I’m no expert but I’d say that Autotrader is good for searching dealership inventory. For older stuff, AutoTempest seems really good at searching all available public listings. So, Autotrader for a 3yo off-lease and you want to find a particular model and options. Tempest for that Saturn SC2.

Per Autotrader, there are 12 new 2024 Giulia Quads still in dealer inventory. 🍀

Cars for sale. I looked at both of these addresses on Google Streetview and the dealerships are gone but both buildings definitely look like they could have been dealerships back in the 60s when they were more smaller than the giant lots you see today.
