The sad thing about this is that the ugly holiday sweater thing is like a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of something genuinely tremendous: Scandinavian knitwear.
I didn’t have egg nog til I was in my 20s. Didn’t know that ugly Christmas sweaters were a thing. Had never heard of a debate between white lights or colored lights. These were as foreign to me as eating a pork chop, another thing no one I knew did (we all ate bacon though 🤷🏻♀️).

Welp, my local library had a copy of Robert Eggers's extended cut of NOSFERATU on DVD, so against my better judgement I am giving it a re-watch. I *despised* this movie when I saw it in the theater last year, but let it never be said that I am a man unwilling to reevaluate his opinions.

I appreciate that they added this bit this afternoon. The timing of their initial apology (2am east coast time) was one of my critiques.
To reiterate: We apologize for the harm we caused when our account shared a video that contained an antisemitic conspiracy dogwhistle that falsely accused Jews of dual loyalty, then hid and/or ignored Jewish voices who rightfully called us out rather than immediately removing it.

I took my husband's *extremely* Jewish last name when we got married and did not think twice about it until I started getting extremely weird behavior from people who saw my last name & he finally had to explain why to me.
I had NO IDEA how much of it was going on, how many dog whistles there were.
