Forgot to share this a while back:

This was such an exciting episode to record; Marshall is always a blast to talk to and Howard is an absolute VFX legend. The stories they bring to any conversation are nothing short of insightful.

Loved getting the chance to talk THE HOWLING with them!
Here's a close up of the original artwork our friend, @jimtandberg.bsky.social created for our recent ep. on @thejoedante.bsky.social 's THE HOWLING!

Also check out the episode w/special guests & friends of the pod, Howard Berger & Marshall Julius!

It's fun to see Spielberg and Columbus involved & hopefully this is great for practical creature effects creatives, but can't help but feel a bit 'on-the-fence' as to whether or not this is a good idea. Does everything need a legacy sequel? Does everything need to be franchise-ed?

A not insignificant number of the upwards of 1,200 film workers who signed this pledge are Jewish themselves. Feels like anti-semitism might not be the actual issue at hand...🧐
Paramount Has Blacklist for Stars Deemed “Overtly Antisemitic” — World of Reel
It sure looks like the likes of Javier Bardem, Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, and Mark Ruffalo won’t be making movies for Paramount in the foreseeable future.

If your government thinks the Pope “doesn’t know what he’s talking about” when he defends migrants’ dignity, the world should see the warning sign. The US is no longer leading on human rights. It’s suppressing them.

A ‘fun fact’ if I’ve ever seen one!
A new mayor of St. Paul - Kaohly Her - led me to Wikipedia to confirm if she will be the first female mayor. I discovered this strange tidbit from the 1910s: "Vivian" was once a gender-neutral name!

No one really knows what to do when a bad guy dies. Do you bow your head but do a wink to camera before you do, or do you do a dance (but respectfully)?

“You go on. Laugh. It’s just a sandwich. Yeah. But what if instead of Italian, or whole wheat, that bad boy had been on rye? You ever had a damn caraway seed in the eye, man? You ever seen what that does to a man?”

Looking forward to learning all about how the right should move left to win elections tomorrow. They should maybe dye their hair pink, learn to love pronouns.

Full artwork for this week’s Frankenstein’s Podcast episode. Inks to full digital cover. One of-if not-the best work I’ve done for the podcast. Thanks to Joe and Kalid for keeping this fever dream going. And a special thanks to Howard and Marshall for joining them on this amazing episode.

My latest for @twincitiesgeek.com:

Got to speak with the folks at @zpuppets.org about their upcoming show, CELLULA, which combines blacklight puppetry with the concept of cellular mitosis. It sounds like an absolute blast - the show runs from Oct 23-25!

This is such a fun bts shot from Star Trek: First Contact. The Borg Queen has been somewhat of a contentious canon addition amongst Trekkies, but there’s no doubt that Alice Krige was fantastic in the role & Frakes directed the hell out of this movie.
