Lindsey Graham, folks!
NO SENATE VOTE TONIGHT

Couldn’t get all senators to allow a speedy vote. Schumer tells reporters Lindsey Graham is blocking it. “That’s the holdup,” Schumer tells reporters. Graham wants to keep a provision letting him sue to pocket $500,000 over J6 phone records seized.

the reason DHS officers wear masks is because it allows them to commit crimes with impunity. there is literally no legitimate reason for it.

Trump launched an affordability-focused midterm campaign for Republicans this week, traveling to Iowa to give a speech about how good his presidency has been for the cost of living.

That's going about as well as you'd think. Here POTUS is saying he is going to keep housing prices high.
Trump: "People that own their homes -- we're gonna keep them wealthy. We're gonna keep those prices up. We're not gonna destroy the value of their homes so that somebody who didn't work very hard can buy a home."

The only reason Homan replaced Bovino as the face of the occupation is because his lies are more polished and he doesn’t dress like a member of the Third Reich in public. But the policies and the state instigated violence remain unchanged.
CNN: How did we get to a place where we had Bovino having Border Patrol agents stopping citizens in interior of the country, asking them ID, creating fear? Who made the decisions to allow this kind of operation to proceed?

HOMAN: The reason for the massive deployment is bc of the threats & violence

A legal asylum-seeker who works at Chipotle and plays music at a church in Maine went missing. His pastor searched and searched, eventually finding his abandoned car with the keys on the floor.

ICE grabbed him. No criminal record. No explanation.

Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and CBP agents are currently operating in the state?

HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down

When the president was calling all Somali immigrants "garbage" who "come from hell" and "contribute nothing" to America and therefore needed to go "back where they came from" did you ask him to "stop the rhetoric," Tom?
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

Judge Alexakis is on the bench.

Martinez's attorneys are here to present her motion to make certain materials from her case available to the public.
Good morning from Chicago's Dirksen Federal Courthouse.

At 9:30 am, Marimar Martinez - the woman Border Patrol agent Charles Exum shot in October, who was then charged with assaulting a federal officer only for the prosecution to be dropped - is going in front of District Judge Georgia Alexakis.

Parente says Martinez has changed her desire to "push back on things" she otherwise wouldn't have, following the ICE/CBP killings in Minneapolis.

"As a citizen who survived one of these shootings, she feels a duty" to share details from her case, Parente says.

"She will continue to repeat it," when the press asks her about it, Parente says, which he says isn't fair to Martinez.

Bovino pulled the "it's our city" stuff in Los Angeles, in Chicago, and in Minneapolis.

The dude is from North Carolina and mostly spent his career in New Orleans and southeastern California. He'd probably never been to Minneapolis in his life before this month.
"Who's city is it Chief?
Bovino: "It's our fucking city."

And that, in a nutshell, is the problem. It is not a democracy when men with guns and uniforms believe they have more control over a city than its residents.
Seems like a good video for his trial

This is the escalation cycle I've been talking about for months, one Homan can't pretend DHS is not part of.

DHS adopts aggressive tactics and arrest quotas, the community responds angrily, agents mask up and DHS deploys more, the response gets bigger/angrier, agents get more aggressive, etc...

Lollllllll come on DOJ attorney, of course they can. It's not a violation of record retention laws to delete a press release with inaccurate information — or to at the very minimum update the page with a major disclaimer.
Alexakis continues to grill govt. atty DeWald over DHS' actions. She asks if, per Martinez's motion, the government has deleted its accusatory page against Martinez.

"I don't know if they can," DeWald saysm

"From their own website?"

DeWald says again he doesn't know.

Ask voters which party they support on *deportations*, or civil rights — or what their preferred policy is vs status quo. Individual party trust questions are not the end all be all, and currently Dems lead on the question “Which party do you trust to handle the country’s most important problem?”
Yep! Data consistently show voters still trust Republicans on immigration. Voters only approve of Trump's border security policy and literally nothing else.
People are conflating the negative polls reflecting opposition to ICE/CBP goon squads disrupting US cities with a massive shift towards more lenient immigration & border policies that's basically wishcasting. This will matter more in 2028 than 2026.
