Johnson County, #Kansas did this in 2024.

Lots of places for Democrats to learn from.

NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:
Voters Ousted This Pennsylvania Sheriff After He Signed Up to Collaborate With ICE - Bolts
A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

Every Democratic Senator now has to make a choice. There is a clear and stark line:

Call for Schumer to resign, or don't.

If you don't you are part of the problem

We were told they couldn’t fight or even talk about anything else because health care was the winning hand.

This is some patronizing bullshit
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

just a PSA, but I tend to follow people I get into internet fights with. I'm not trying to be a creep. I just value trying to understand different perspectives. so if I tell you to fuck off there is also a decent chance I will also follow you

We are less than a week after a massive Democratic blowout against Republicans that flipped multiple jurisdictions, while Republicans were being blamed for the shut down and Trump was being booed in public. And the 4D chess caucus thought “NOW is the time to stop fighting?” It’s inexplicable logic.

Here's hoping the hospital you rely on for emergency care survives what is about to happen

I'm really not sure mine will

Good luck

There are wide lanes open for Democratic candidates who believe in something other than neoliberalism and insider trading.

I'm sitting in a park with some folks who ain't got much. They spend their time collecting cans and trying to turn tricks and trying to stay away from the cops. I just gave one guy $20 and he almost started crying

Bullshit
FWIW, this deal isn’t finalized yet.

If you want Democrats to keep fighting, call your Senator.

The vote to advance the bill will likely succeed, but all that does is tee up a final up/down vote.

A huge, huge betrayal

The Democrats now own the medicaid cuts, the ACA cuts, the SNAP cuts, everything

I don't know too much about Shapiro, but this is some righteous ans powerful political rhetoric
Shapiro: He rose to some prominence by writing a book about growing up in Appalachia, where there are a whole lot of people who get SNAP. He made millions of dollars off telling their stories, and then he turned his damn back on those very people he likes to write about and claim as his own.

Another person who started down this path from the most “innocuous” advertised uses of ChatGPT: homework help. I have been struck by the cases of people getting lost in delusions after using this product for work or school: ie the use cases we are supposed to encourage as faculty.

Does a one year extension of "Obamacare funding" include funding Medicaid at current rates? Because if not then the Democrats are making a compromise offer that will destroy the rural healthcare system
