States can create citizen militias independent of the National Guard. I’d like to see governors and state legislators think creatively about that power when it comes to monitoring federal agents operating in their state, particularly if they don’t trust police forces to do so.

An institution’s function is what it does.

You can’t train ICE into being more humane when its entire purpose is brutality. Abolition is the only way to end the violence.
January 7, 2026 at 8:13 PM
That's right
I think it is more accurate to call DHS/ICE patrols "state sponsored militias" than "police." 5/

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems like some enterprising attorneys could make a shit ton of money suing X on behalf of victims. But again, not a lawyer, so maybe I'm wrong?
X basically industrialized the creation of fake porn of women who don't consent. Others did it first, but Grok made it normalized and centralized: publicly visible, instantly creatable by anyone, regardless of who's being targeted and dehumanized. Only question now is will X suffer any consequences

yeah, it sucks but we deserve it
This sucks but I think non-Americans being justifiably angry at Americans for what the American government is doing and threatening to do, and Americans experiencing that anger and frustration personally in ways that are unpleasant, is probably an important part of any path back to stability
