Stuff like this makes me realize how making a movie trailer is really an art unto itself.

We've all seen this movie. Some of us, like, a lot.

But this random fan-made trailer, while never forsaking the original, makes OG Star Wars feel like a genuinely new thing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn11...

This would've been such an amazing movie. I had the honor to peep it sometime last year and it was very moving and exciting. Sony passed on something great BUT I hear Matt has some other news to share soon so... Something else to look forward to!
Matt Braly has shared never-before-seen development artwork from his canceled feature film at Sony Pictures Animation.

The project centered on a young boy who embarks on an emotional journey into a fantastical realm of Thai spirits, hoping to find a cure for his illness.

"Wait, *how* much arsenic is shelved in the library?"

"The *what* department has what size laser, mounted on a PLANE? and it's for freespace usage?" (LIDAR archaeology FTW)

"Theatre regularly moves *how* much scenery at WHAT speed?"

Following Phil is fun.
The closest I can get most of them to admitting they should look at something outside of a laboratory are the workshops. Apparently lathes are worthy of respect...when people remember the shops exist.

NASA put up a fun blog post several years ago highlighting a few ways apparent FTL travel could theoretically be achieved, but they all involved clearly impossible (so: fictional) things like "wrap yourself in a neutron star". It was entertaining, at least.
regular reminder: faster than light travel is not possible. faster than light travel will never be possible.

because of the popularity of science fiction, pop-science media recirculates the same pseudo-scientific nonsense about this every so often. it's always completely 100% wrong.

I just want everyone to know that the creator of one of our favorite whistles (the micro bitonal) is a very nice man in Italy who has been messaging me asking if there are things he can tweak in the next version he is designing mostly to help us mass produce these more efficiently to fight ICE.

I'll give you $20 if you can provide proof of where this map of Aerona was originally published in physical form #Vorthos
Readers, we have a challenge! We want to source this map of Aerona and get a better photo/scan. We know it is

• Different from the 1997 calendar
• Printed 2000 or before
• Maybe from a magazine? Not Duelist; possibly TopDeck 6, 7, 9, or 11

Can you help us track this down?

ICE at the polls! Bannon is basically yelling “fire” in a crowded theater here. His objective is to cause chaos (and suppress votes on the left). And it’s already working.

This threat works on multiple levels and doesn’t have to be “real” to serve its purpose.

Let me explain & offer some advice.

Bannon (and his buddies) are using an informational strategy called reflexive control that intentionally exploits the reaction of his adversaries (on the left) to inflict damage on their own side. Don't become an unwitting agent in their information operation.

Let's talk about the time that an 18 YEAR OLD invented the COLOR MAUVE (I am not kidding) and completely revolutionized textiles, fashion & eventually cancer diagnosis.

The teenager was William Henry Perkin, a bit of a prodigy, who at 15 began studying with August Wilhelm von Hofmann at ICL.

In 1856 Perkin accidentally discovered mauvine—the first commercialized synthetic dye—and introduced a new era in the chemical industry.
