@rahaeli.bsky.social and @amyhoy.bsky.social, I saw (via my spouse) this thread on Tumblr and with the MCAS and gluten I thought of you. I'm sending Rahaeli's MCAS 101 blog article their way and the gluten free air fryer idea might be up Amy's alley. www.tumblr.com/thebibliosph...

Synchronisity! I just repaired this little guy! It’s an original Sputnik 1 musical model gifted to me after a lecture years ago. As I wanted to set it up today, it made no sound but a little tweak was all that was needed. Now it sings again!

City Book Room is kindly asking folks to register so we can get a sense of the number of people to expect:

New Mexico is the only state to have a “state smell”

A bunch of grade school kids said that roasting green chile should be our state smell so their teacher had them write our state Congress and in a shocking display they all came together, wrote the bill, and passed it in a matter of weeks

Wakefield literally made shit up for his initial paper. This was established well over a decade ago. Johnson is an active agent in the destruction of the United States. Whether he's actually paid by a foreign adversary or not, his actions & words express only contempt for the country and its people.
GOP Sen. Ron Johnson is crowing about Robert Kennedy Jr.’s CDC pushing debunked vaccine misinformation.

“Time to apologize to Dr. Andrew Wakefield and all the others who were maligned and vilified for simply asking the right questions,” he says.

Wakefield’s paper was *fraudulent.*

Also other people’s expertise is very inconvenient for profiting off pseudoscientific bullshit
Can’t believe the whole country has to suffer through the return of Dickensian childhood diseases because the worst, most ignorant attention-demanders decided other people’s expertise makes them feel bad

I have talked to an IT admin turned security Principal, who had a 0click 0day deployed on their network. I know the case and CVE, it is real.

What saved them was the attacker encountering a configuration they had just NO idea what to do with.

Attackers are not gods, even if they have the commands.
I tell the story often but in the beginnings of my career in IT I was fascinated by stories of 0days by state actors. And I worried about them.

As our entire client base was XP SP2 with zero governance and many machines shared huge groups of local admins.

Perspective later is hell of a thing.
