My favourite is that an Irish vet is the subject of both a hit song by Britney Spears and another one by Kylie Minogue

Both Britney Spears’ “Toxic” and Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” Are, Randomly, Likely Written About the Same Veterinarian with His Own Reality Show
Yeah, let us explain.

It’s the exclusive everyone wanted, the story that will win next year’s Pulitzer…

I can reveal London’s giant AI generated Christmas artwork, the subject of much online mockery, is being torn down - and I honestly *genuinely* think you’ll never guess why. www.londoncentric.media/p/ai-artwork...
London's giant AI artwork to be torn down
The bizarre story of why a much-talked-about creation is being torn down. Plus: Docklands Light Railway extension, giant laser stalks the night sky, and more tales of Android phone theft rejection.

Who Sees You and Wonder 2 were skipped due to time constraints, and poor To Here Knows When had to be abandoned due to tech issues. Great to see Off Your Face getting an airing.

Was at the My Bloody Valentine secret gig tonight and pretty sure they crafted the setlist especially for me - Thorn, Slow, Off Your Face, Nothing Much to Lose. They had a few tech problems, but they were as tight, loud and gorgeous as ever. Can’t wait to do it all again on Saturday.

you can't make me learn what "cloudflare" is. I shouldn't have to know these things. I have a sensitive artistic spirit

Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

This is Paschal's last appointment before he ascends into his final form: that of a giant sentient spreadsheet that floats in the sky overseeing all budgetary issues of the new world
NEW: Paschal Donohoe is resigning as MInister for Finance, and as a TD, in order to take up a role with the World Bank in Washington. Announcement expected after this morning's Cabinet meeting. @virginmedianews.bsky.social

This is the "mature debate" they keep banging on about btw. What level of cruelty we should aspire to, with the claimed fear of being seen as less cruel than a country rapidly sliding towards fascism. An ivory tower scumbag
Justice and Migration Minister Jim O'Callaghan said he's committed to ensuring Ireland is 'not viewed more favourably than the UK by those seeking to claim asylum'.

His statement comes following proposed reforms to the UK's asylum practices

Rollercoaster has been in my head ever since #TOTP tonight, and I’ve only just realised - the “don’t wanna wait for you no more” backing vocals during the chorus are very Labour of Love. Hue and Cry AND The Beatles, a broad swathe of influences being displayed by B*Witched there.

Of course, BJ Thomas’ rendition wasn’t the hit in the UK, Sacha Distel was the one who took his, ahem, inferior version into the Top 10 #TOTP

Raindrops is one of those songs where it’s weird to think of it as just another chart hit, and not something that was just always there in the atmosphere. There was a time before this song, isn’t that crazy? Must have been awful #TOTP
