Today LHCb presented a new measurement of the decay of a B meson into a K* and a μ+ μ- pair
Previous results disagreed with the Standard Model prediction for the branching fraction and angular distribution

The attack on basic science in the USA is real:
The National Science Foundation just killed half of the Nobel prize winning LIGO experiments (essentially meaning: LIGO can no longer see where a gravitational wave comes from, just that it was there)

I just had to think about an interesting fact I learned a good week ago, which I had not realized before:
CMS will have a track trigger in the HL-LHC based on independent track pT measurements in each double-layered silicon module; but ATLAS *can't do that*.
This will be a major difference.
