Excellent news.
🙏 Thank you to all who campaigned for the National Covid Memorial to be preserved.
The volunteers were at Parliament today to hear the government announce that our beautiful memorial is to be made permanent. It was an emotional day, as we have fought so long and hard to ensure that our beloved dead are not forgotten. We are grateful and happy. ❤️

According to this 50,000 people in the US died of Covid in 2024. It seems like an extraordinarily high figure for something that is no longer supposed to be a concern - even if you leave LC aside.
Why you should continue to get the COVID-19 vaccine every year!

📢A public health campaign is needed to inform people about the benefits of high-grade masks in an outbreak.

😷Why isn't FFP2 a minimum requirement in healthcare settings?

🛡Why haven't Clinically Vulnerable people been informed?

🇬🇧🇺🇸 The UK and US are failing to manage 'flu risks.

🇯🇵 Japan has declared a 'flu epidemic.
People asked to:

😷Mask when appropriate
🧼Wash hands
👨‍👩‍👧‍👧Avoid crowded places
🏫Some schools have even closed temporarily

We are not powerless against infections. #Flu is on the rise in the UK and hospitals are full. #Covid is always circulating. Wearing an #FFP3 respirator mask in shared, indoor spaces can reduce the likelihood of getting infected.

This is such an important episode. It explains a lot of experiences we have living in women’s bodies.
Women were excluded from clinical trails until 1993 in the U.S. and 1997 in Canada. @namshine.bsky.social talks with @docmcohen.medsky.social (@queensuhealth.bsky.social) about excluding women has shaped medicine and harmed women’s health, on (MIS)Treated: podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/w...

This is a terrific and balanced account of the recent Covid Inquiry module from a former Whitehall researcher. Please share it as the media largely ignored any evidence presented which was not about harms from lockdowns.
Here is my blog on the recent Covid Inquiry hearings - module 8 Children & Young People. It highlights how clinically vulnerable children/households are ignored, indeed punished for needing to stay safe. Change is needed: improved safety; support and status. livingonplagueisland.blog/2025/11/03/t...

Who wants to spend weeks feeling grotty? Even if you think you are not at risk from Flu, Covid, RSV or any other air-borne disease - ventilation, ffp3 masks and air filters are all effective ways of avoiding getting ill and spreading it to others who might be seriously affected. It’s worth it.
On #WorldVentil8Day we are reminding everyone:

💨 Clean indoor air saves lives! 💨

Flu risks are high this year and ventilation, filtration, high-grade masks, and CO₂ levels still matter.

“Most prestigious lecture” - take note politicians! Air quality - especially indoor air quality matters. Please spend some time and get educated on this and then put money behind solutions which make a difference to people’s health.

The cruddy headline to this article means you could be forgiven for thinking that vax for children was bad. Covid was many times worse for heart health and we still need Covid vax for all, since Covid is still too prevalent. The argument is only unsettled due to cost.

Covid jabs gave under-18s heart problems – but were less risky than catching virus
The health impact of a Covid infection was higher than the risks from the vaccine for teens and children - but it won't settle arguments over current vaccine policy

To be delivered by non medical staff - ignoring all airborne disease mitigations (masks, air filtration/ventilation/far UV and testing and isolation when sick) - sure - this is going to work 🙄. Some had clinical vulnerabilities to start with, many more after Covid re infections. @cvcev.bsky.social
