And just like that, we lose our measles elimination status after 27 years. Three decades of work, gone.

Oh how I love this city, this country and this team. Thank you, Blue Jays, for not only giving us the season of a lifetime but also for bringing us all together. Proud to be Canadian and proud to be a Blue Jays fan.

As someone who straddles two worlds, it’s been increasingly frustrating watching the healthcare system completely unravel in Canada from every end.

Yesavage is SAVAGE tonight!!!!

He has now striked out every single player in this game (10 strike outs!) and we aren’t even half way through!

As a brown woman with a tight knit group of friends who all have kids, I have earned the right to be called an auntie and I won’t let pearl-clutching white folks take that away from me.

What a thing to cause an uproar about… #ZohranMamdani

Did we….. just have a GRAND SLAM in our first World Series in 32 YEARS by a World Series debut batter and then chase that with another two-run home run???!!! 🤯🤯🤯
Let’s go, BLUE JAYS!!

The good, the bad and the ugly on the current measles situation in Canada. Measles outbreak in Ontario finally declared over. New cases are slowing down in all provinces, with only a handful of new cases in Alberta and BC in the last month.

It’s getting increasingly harder to convince anti-vaxxers bc it is no longer about science & evidence. It is about identify & belonging.
It’s not just accepting a vaccine, it’s about leaving behind their sense of self & community. It’s about security. This is why throwing data will never work.

Don’t get sucked into the whataboutism. There doesn’t need to be competition between public health advances - each are important & critical in making people live long + healthy lives. Anyone in public health will tell you this. Alas, the folks doing damage only know how to rage bait for self-gain.

A poorly conducted study, submitted as a correspondence, claims to show increased cancer diagnosis one year after Covid-19 vaccination.

In truth, the quality of science in this supposed study was abysmal and filled with major methodological flaws.

I am half way through reading @joho.bsky.social ‘s new book and it should be included as historical evidence in national science libraries & archives. I really hope down the road we read this and find ways to ensure none of what we saw during the pandemic is ever repeated. Riveting read.
The sequel to We Want Them Infected is done!

COVID killed 1.2 million Americans while vaccines saved millions.

Yet, disinformation superspreaders were empowered, where they are taking a wrecking ball to science & medicine.

How did that happen?🧵

Flu shot saves lives.
Remember: children aged 6 months and older are eligible to receive a flu shot. Two doses, one month apart are required if receiving a flu shot for the first time in children aged 8 and under.

“While working Canadians are paying higher rates than their ultra-wealthy fellow citizens... the government is currently considering a so-called austerity budget that is almost certain to make these problems worse.” - @sabivm.bsky.social and Hon. Ratna Omidvar

Canada's exploding wealth inequality requires tax changes
Our current tax code is not asking the wealthy to reinvest in our economy, and that failure is weakening services and programs working Canadians may use to get ahead.

In Canada, top 1% of wealth holders hold 24% of total wealth.
Meanwhile, PM Carney has an ‘austerity budget’, which will impact the disadvantaged.
Patriotic Millionaires Canada, which I am a board member of, estimated that a 3% tax on wealth over $100-million could raise $25-billion annually.

Nancy Mace went on Bill Maher to tell people to take ibuprofen instead of acetaminophen in pregnancy. This is extremely dangerous advice. I explain here what the risks are.

My issue is less with the money he made here, but more about how he was very much out of depth on this topic.
Like, my dude, phone a friend. Call an OB/ MFM/anyone in clinical practice and talk to your peers and colleagues.

Not only is the science clear, but there is global consensus on this.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is safe to use as a first-line therapeutic option for fever and pain in pregnancy when medically indicated, at recommended doses, & used for the shortest duration required.
September 23, 2025 at 12:27 PM
Was on Global National today talking about the misinfo coming from the US about Tylenol in pregnancy. I wish I could've included the clip where he stumbles repeatedly to pronounce acetaminophen, yet doesn't consider whether he or his ridiculous team are qualified to be making these statements.
