I'm James, in the Dallas, Texas, area.
I've done a tiny bit of everything as a hobbyist in game dev (and finished a Bachelor's in it), focused on programming, level design, and music.

Something I didn't mention in my story yesterday: one of the reasons that Team Cherry had such an enjoyable time making Silksong is that it's 2D. Nice and flat. Don't have to worry about 3D art pipelines.
