It’s shameful that any British or European politician or organisation still use X. For pities sake close your accounts now.
After this weekend's racist attacks on the EU, I've written a column about the moral obligation to stop posting on X.

Oh no, wait, I wrote it *two years ago* when it was blatantly obvious what was going on and how it would get much much worse.

Wasted Wind
Britain wastes millions a day switching off wind turbines. See how much has been wasted today, and in 2025.

Kemi Badenoch’s ability to plant political time bombs that blow up in the face of the party she leads is truly unparalleled.

What’s particularly impressive here is she could have found this out herself before raising the profile of this issue at PMQs.

Apropos of nothing, I really do think UK journalists and politicians need some reminding that mass deportation of LEGAL immigrants, particularly those with permanent status, is far more extreme than even Trump's America and would basically place Britain completely on its own among democracies.

Should have been in quotes then. And described as inaccurate, or a pile of stinking bullshit ‘in newspaper parlance’.
Got a weaselly reply back from reader's editor Ashlee Gagui about this lie on the Daily Mail front page explaining why "We are therefore entirely satisfied that there is no possible inaccuracy contained within the page" that broadcast a total lie - apparently it's ok because it was Nigel Farage's

Appalled by the violent scenes of police being attacked at the Tommy Robinson rally today. Those responsible should face the full force of the law.

It is very nearly the tenth anniversary of that brief moment when, for 2 or 3 days, British newspapers remembered refugees are desperate human beings who need our help, rather than scum that it's okay to threaten with violence.

Extraordinary how much of the media is essentially trying to incite rioting now. Not just legitimise or normalise but actively encourage. It is, of course, unlikely to kick off anywhere near them.

Last friday night ‘Stop Sizewell C’ grabbed some attention by projecting a series of messages onto Sizewell B’s dome. Sizewell C would be a colossal waste of money - at least £40 billion for the most expensive electricity we’ve ever seen.

Wow, look at this: the carbon intensity of UK electricity is currently only 32g/kWh and 86.5% of our electricity right now is coming from renewables.

Come on world, this IS possible!
And it will only get better (meaning: cleaner, healthier, less intrusive) 🎉

An important sense-check on migration from @financialtimes.com

Ignore the convulsing commentators of the Mail & Telegraph.

The UK is about average in the OECD and in line with its peer countries when it comes to the proportion of foreign-born people living in the country.

This is *really* important: the reason electricity prices are high is the high cost of gas & that market rate is set by gas prices. One of the loudest calls at Everything Electric last week was to decouple from gas prices, so we benefit from cheaper renewables.

NEW 🧵 Is human intelligence starting to decline?

Recent results from major international tests show that the average person’s capacity to process information, use reasoning and solve novel problems has been falling since around the mid 2010s

What should we make of this?
