You gotta wonder - do journalists at the Guardian talk to each other? First they run a story about Bacon being carcinogenic and the need for health warnings (a long standing food scandal that one) - then, barely a day later, a puff piece on which bacon ‘crisps up’ the best…..Jeez.

Incredible stats in this report - nearly 1m more people unable to work for health reasons since the pandemic. Half a million more coming in the next five years.

Good to see further consequences for the fish abusing company Mowi. But very surprised to see the Telegraph airbrush the Green Britain Foundation out of the story. We shared our undercover footage with them (in an exclusive), they use it here in this story.

Trump - the king of fake news and hypocrite extraordinaire - has the gall to welcome someone else’s resignation… we’re talking about a man convicted of rape and of tax fraud - who did not resign and never would. Incredible. And btw, I resent his interference in our media and our country.

Our airlines are subsidy junkies - £20 billion a year in tax free gifts from the public, which drives the price of flying to ridiculously low levels - they may make an average $10 per customer, but average figures can be very misleading - they make massive annual profits.

The headline to this one is - Daily Mail owner seeks to dodge tax. It’s not really a shocking story, it’s not like we would expect anything better.

It can’t make any sense to tax electric car drivers for not burning fossil fuels while allowing people that fly to pay no tax for burning fossil fuels. The answer is simple, extend the charging per mile to the airline industry. Fair, climate effective and tax raising - all at the same time.

I was in Shoreditch earlier today at the Economic Consumer Conference, it was informative and inspiring, lovely audience, great questions....what more could you want...:)

So this year will be the third hottest year on records - stretching back 176 years…big deal - but the first and second hottest years in that 176 year period are last year and the one before.

Rachel Reeves announced she had a plan to deal with the rich people that might try to leave the country.

You don't need that unless you're having a wealth tax.

Has Piers Morgan been abducted by aliens and returned all Woke…? Here he is - in tune with the public on net zero (we want it but worry about the speed and cost). His new book is titled Woke is Dead - I say it’s not Piers, it lives on in you…:). And that’s a compliment.

Something that is never factored into the published cost of nuclear energy, a near century long clean up. We pay for this. Current bill, £120 billion and climbing. Sizewell C will be just more of the same. Expensive power and a toxic legacy for thousands of years.

Love this story, billionaire, tax exile, petrolhead kills more people than he employs, is how it reads to me.

Big, bold promises are easy in opposition, not so easy to deliver - Farage is finding this out now. £90 billion of tax cuts have just gone up in smoke - that’s a massive number and shows how massively out of touch with reality - Reform actually are.

New Yorkers rejected the Billionaire Bros in this race - both Trump and Musk weighed in with their views. They also rejected the racist slurs and Muslim tropes.

Good idea from Rachel Reeves…why not, energy is not a luxury. We need to make VAT more progressive actually. We have an official definition of energy poverty. In contrast there is no such thing as flying poverty - because it is a luxury.

From vegan sea gulls to stunning football, the exit tax that gives a budget clue, poisonous tap water and privatisation - what did it ever do for us? Musk rants nonsense on hobbits and immigration…and Reform (bless them) bumping into reality.

The Green Gold Rush is happening in the most unlikely place right now - Trump’s America. While Trump is busy ending tax credits and generally making green energy projects harder to build - he seems to have caused an actual boom in activity.

Reform were elected barely six months ago and promised to cut costs and cut taxes. They’ve failed to do either and now, one by one, the council’s they run are planning tax increases. Half a dozen have already announced the maximum allowable 5%.

Tax breaks have worked well for O’Leary and Ryanair - you can see why he would recommend them for the whole economy - but someone has to pay for them. The lack of VAT and fuel duty gifts nearly £20B a year from other tax payers to Britain’s airline industry.

The perfect answer to the question - what if people with money leave to avoid tax - tax them on the way out. More importantly - does this mean some kind of wealth tax is coming in the budget - I mean you don’t need an exit tax if you don’t have a wealth tax….do you?

We’ve been calling for better price control on the Network Operators - for years now. Their public accounts show vast levels of profit, at 40% it’s the highest in our entire economy, higher than banks and venture capitalists…...
