BREAKING: AOC on MTG retiring:

"She's carefully timing her departure just 1-2 days after her pension kicks in and after making millions of dollars insider trading stocks for weapons manufacturers and others while in office."

Universal healthcare tomorrow if we prioritized people over pharmaceutical profits and insurance company shareholders. Every other developed nation manages it. We choose not to because both parties are bought by the healthcare industry. It's not about affordability it's about who owns Congress.

Yeah. Why are we not impeaching him immediately?
Today, the president of the United States said that multiple US senators should be put to death for treason and articles of impeachment have not been filed yet. This country is cooked. Done. Finished.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

President Zelenskyy came to the White House, looking for help from his longstanding ally.

He was ambushed, humiliated and berated for not being grateful enough.

Prince Bone Saw bin 9/11 came to the White House, for the first time since he ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

He was revered.

You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

"Traditional health insurance" pre-ACA didn't cover pre-ex, had annual/lifetime caps, didn't cover important things like having a baby, led to many declaring bankruptcy when they got sick. Even then, ~50M had no insurance at all because they still couldn't afford it. They clogged ERs to get care.

Yay my popsicle stick star ornament craft sold for the first time! It seems silly, but I worked really hard on this and it was fun to make the two stars that I made are now on our Christmas tree. I hope whoever bought it enjoys this craft.

Health insurance is a fucking racket. We don’t get to choose who we want for an insurance company. That’s tied to your employer. Well my employer decided to change the company we are using yet again. I get to pay more and get less coverage. We need Medicare for all. This is bullshit

I know I complain a lot on here about politics, The Rich, etc. 😆 But personally it’s been a pretty good week! Attended a library vendor expo today that had cool swag and a yummy lunch. Hung out with a former colleague. Went to the gym after. 🙌

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Also, everyone in all locations in the United States.

Childcare costs more than our mortgage. But we did the math for one person to stay home, and it didn’t math. 🤷🏻‍♀️
For far too many families, the cost of childcare is driving them out of the city they love.

New Yorkers deserve to be able to afford to raise families here.

“After the war is won, we must be prepared to move forward with the implementation of these rights.”
81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

Hey, New Haven-area children’s authors! Is anyone interested in a volunteer opportunity the morning of December 1st at a local school’s “Books and Breakfast” program?

If you’re curious send me a message. It is “volunteer,” but you’d get a bagel or something and it would look great on your website.

Happy Veterans Day!

My district has school today and my school does a breakfast and assembly to honor veterans in our community. Glad that my dad, stepdad, and one of my brothers got to attend! 🇺🇸
