It's rather incredible to me how many sports outlets' primary takeaway from this livestream was that Nacua criticized NFL refs and not that he did something EXTREMELY antisemitic during it. AA is practically the only one to actually highlight this.

New Zealand's libertarian/ populist/ right wing coalition Government is trying to follow Wesley Streeting's lead in banning puberty blockers.

This is what the New Zealand High Court has just decided (www.courtsofnz.govt.nz/assets/cases...).
[17] There is also no evidence of a particular need to act urgently to prevent new prescriptions because of some immediate risk to physical health if young people commence treatment. [18] Puberty blockers are reversible. There is no evidence that they affect fertility. If they did, they would hardly be prescribed for children with precocious puberty and they have been prescribed for that purpose for decades. They may alleviate distress for a child who is simply not ready to cope with puberty either because they are too young or because their mental health is such that a delay is recommended. The only evidence-based impact on physical health is on bone density and that impact results from long term use. A period of months until the Judicial Review can be heard is not said to create any issues with bone density for a young person commencing treatment. [19] The evidence relating to mental health outcomes suggests negative outcomes from a ban are a far more immediate concern.

1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.

For this book, I wrote an essay about "How to GM Romance" when you're asexual - because I'm asexual and find it frustrating to live in a world where sex and romance are an assumed and “necessary” part of any meaningful relationship.

Within the asexual spectrum, attitudes toward sex vary significantly. This is not just about sexual attraction, but also how individuals feel about the act of sex itself, which you might not ever need to deal with at the gaming table. It’s helpful to understand, though, especially when creating specific boundaries or lines and veils. Here are a few ways people on the ace spectrum might relate to the concept of sex: It’s possible for an asexual person to be deeply headover-heels in love. It’s also just as possible for an asexual individual to have absolutely no interest in romance or sex, but have deeply intimate lifelong platonic friendships that might even look romantic on the surface.

Today I filed a resolution intended to pursue Council oversight into the matter of the $21M that was found in the Portland Housing Bureau but not disclosed to Council ahead of budget discussions. I'm joined by @councilormorillo.bsky.social and @counciloravalos.bsky.social as co-sponsors.
Require the City Administrator to release all relevant public records in reference to recently discovered unspent surplus funds and schedule an oversight hearing to facilitate fact finding WHEREAS, Council was first notified of the potential for a budget deficit to be balanced in the Fall Technical Adjustment Ordinance (TAO) on August 8th, 2025; and WHEREAS, following the passage of the Fall TAO, the Deputy City Administrator (DCA) of the Community and Economic Development Service Area (CEDSA) notified Council of previously undiscovered funds available for housing related use on November 20th, 2025; and WHEREAS, reporting on the matter of the funds has raised significant public interest in the timeline related to the fund discovery, its relation to TAO development, and why City Council was not notified of these funds prior to Council consideration of the TAO; and WHEREAS, Council expects that information from bureaus will be readily available upon request in order to aid in effective legislative oversight; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, Council exercises its investigatory authority in aid of its legislative function granted by the Charter and directs that the City Administrator shall release all relevant public records subject to disclosure under the Public Records Act, including without limitation communications and other information pertinent to understanding the following questions: 1. What happened to the funds and what led to them not being spent in previous years? 2. Who was aware of the funds, at what point in time was each party made aware, and why was Council not informed in a more timely manner? 3. What dynamics led to this information not being shared with Council, and what was the sequence of events, given that Council has received differing accounts of what occurred? 4. To what degree were decisions made around these funds and when information was or wasn’t shared, as it pertains to development of the Fall TAO proposal? BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Administrator shall share a complete set of the above-described public records identified by the City Administrator with Council and Council Operations no later than January 16th, 2026; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, Council Operations shall compile all available information, accounts, records, and communications shared by the City Administrator, Council Offices, journalists, and other relevant parties. Council Operations shall share this compilation with Council no later than January 21st, 2026, distinguishing the set of public records described above provided by the City Administrator from all other information provided by other sources; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Council President shall schedule an initial oversight hearing to invite testimony of relevant individuals and consider all findings, no later than January 30th, 2026, and schedule subsequent oversight hearings to consider additional investigatory action by Council if necessary, in the interest of working toward conclusory findings in aid of Council’s legislative function.
