We need to acknowledge the reality: the so-called “news media” in this country no longer serves the public. It serves one person, and one person only. At this point it’s bordering on Stockholm syndrome. We need to stop sympathizing with our captors.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

The justice ruled that the death penalty for the innocent man should proceed — despite her strong anti–death penalty stance, especially “when it comes to the innocent.” The logic was that if she didn’t do it, another justice who loves killing people would just do it faster.
