This is the answer, for anyone puzzled.
If it seems out of character for MTG or Boebert to suddenly have moral standards, it is. They don't. They're bailing bc he's going to lose.
So "maybe he'll persuade them to override their ethical concerns" doesn't apply here. That's not why they're doing it.

If Boebert stands up to Trump, that's a major crack in Trump's perceived invincibility. Boebert and Greene don't have principles, but they can sense weakness.

The Epstein files released today did not come from the DOJ's Epstein Files. They came from Epstein's estate. Pam Bondi is still protecting Trump at all costs. Today's release by Democrats was aimed at undermining her efforts. And to make it harder for Donald to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell.
