It would be a mistake to see Trumpism as authoritarianism imposed on an unwilling nation, as opposed to authoritarianism implemented in a nation with a plurality that is already made up of authoritarian bootlickers who created the context for Trumpism to thrive.

Watching them all fall in line to brazenly lie to protect their new secret police/terror squads from accountability for shooting a scared mom in the face 3 times, is a reminder (in case we still needed one) that it’s no where near enough to just replace Trump. It’s the entire immoral & corrupt GOP.
Mike Johnson on Renee Good: "This woman was taunting ICE officers. She was impeding law enforcement. She was violating a number of laws. They were very patient ... what I saw was she hit the accelerator and hit the ICE officer and he reacted in a split second."

In DC during the federal surge, citizen parents started coordinating “walking buses” to take children of immigrants safely to and from school. The city-by-city targeting can feel isolating, but it’s also shown how people can share and develop techniques of resistance over time
People who aren't in Minnesota might not know that if you drive or walk past pretty much any school, there's going to be a group of people, parents and childless, standing guard to make sure the kids are safe from feds. It's pretty remarkable. And very disturbing. www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

New video shows ICE agents detaining a US citizen legal observer in Minneapolis.

The agents smashed his car window, dragged him out, and placed a knee on his neck.

We must stress: The only violence is coming from CBP/ICE. They are rioting in the face of sustained nonviolent protests by thousands of Americans across the country.

They are today’s Alabama State Troopers at the Selma bridge. They are Bull Connor’s police with firehoses in Birmingham.

The Trump era in a nutshell:

Ordinary citizens are holding ICE accountable, while large law firms are doing nothing.

Small businesses are speaking out, while large corporations remain silent.

Independent media show moral urgency, while legacy media reports "both sides."

4 male ICE agents tackle a woman U.S. citizen—lift her off ground with no concern over groping her breast or exposing her midriff.

"Help me! Help me!" she cries out. "Check my ID!"

Agents shove her into back of SUV hitting her head—literally run away from scene of crime.

I too am normally opposed to the death penalty, but with great power comes great responsibility... and great accountability commensurate with the power they wielded.

If one accepts the legal power of life or death over others, then one is eligible to face the same outcomes.

Um, you're not allowed to go door-to-door hoping to randomly find someone violating the law. You need a warrant. That's is basic Constitutional shit.
JD Vance: "It was a legitimate law enforcement operation. We were going door to door to try to find criminal illegal aliens and deport them from the United States ... say a prayer for that agent ... he deserves a debt of gratitude."

I know Vance is just a rightwing blogger who somehow fell into this position and is running is mouth, but the Vice President claiming that federal agents are absolutely immune from any criminal laws is like end of the republic stuff. No one should brush this aside.

I know pedocon’s real and all, but it’s insane the Jan 6 pardon covered ~ 1500 people and there are now at least a half dozen since arrested for child sex crimes. That’s one in every 250! Over the course of a year!

I think Pitcairn Island is the only population beating that per capita rate.
