The BBC is ours. It's ours to love. Ours to criticise. Ours to shout at when we feel in the mood.

And if Farage thinks that the way to win favour with voters is to stand around cheering as Trump takes down the BBC for $1 billion of personal enrichment then he's a bigger fool than anyone thought.

If Trump does sue the BBC for $1bn it may leave some of his ideological fellow travellers here in a tricky situation. Do the Conservatives and Reform join in with BBC bashing? Or will doing so be seen as unpatriotic? After all, it would be the British public who would ultimately pay for any damages.

The Liberal Democrats are the biggest beneficiaries of Labour's collapse, gaining more switchers than Reform UK. The Greens are also taking large numbers of former Labour backers.

(Certainly not what you'd guess given the national narrative.)

Picked up some Lib Dem stats at conference. Some of these surprised me (especially given media coverage):

1. The Liberal Democrats now control more councils than the Conservative Party

2. In May's local elections in England, the LDs elected more councillors than either Labour or the Tories.

Yes – for populists. Parties like Reform rely on voters overstating the scale of today’s problems

Massive near full page in black on BBC News website and app. Plus additional articles on Angela Rayner. Fair dos so we can also expect similar column inches on Nigel Farage’s avoidance of property tax as featured in today’s Guardian?

Seems to me this article by the BBC political reporter is just one long manifesto. No scrutiny, no balance, no in depth delve into funding, or the how’s and where’s. Paragraph after paragraph of Reform Ltd spin by our lead broadcaster. Shameful

To quote from Nick Thomas-Symonds’ bio of Harold Wilson (who hated racism), “I’m not prepared to stand aside and see this country engulfed by racial conflict which calculated orators or ignorant prejudice can create”. In 1968 it was in response to Enoch Powell. Not come far in 60 years have we?

This has a strong whiff of corruption about it, just the fact Trump’s former lawyer is involved, so how is this not conflict of interest? But if he does pardon her my guess is this will be the straw that breaks the MAGA back.

If this govt don’t get their act together and FAST they’ll be paving the way for Reform Ltd into office in 2029 and if that happens I will NEVER forgive Labour for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Perhaps it’s my current mood but I can see this happening. Dear god!
