Storming the Capitol to hang your own vice-president and end democracy is.

Children can be systematic problem-solvers at younger ages than psychologists had thought – new research
By cranking up the difficulty on the test task, researchers found that children are capable of finding systematic solutions to complex problems far earlier than psychologists had believed.

For a project I am working on - how do you think John Howard fundamentally changed Australia - what did he do that we are still feeling the effects of? (Housing, immigration debates, loss of workers rights, black arm band of history, jingoism etc)

Really interested in your takes.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion, after getting $1.2 trillion richer over the past year alone.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is getting squeezed by tariffs and high prices for groceries, utilities, and health care.

The system is broken.

Because councils don’t routinely gather this information, we just don’t know the scale of unrepresentativeness in planning consultations.

But it’s hard to look at this and international academic research and not conclude it’s a democracy for landlords only.
Today we @yimby.melbourne drop our new research note, demonstrating the bias of opt-in community consultation.

It will shock no one who’s paying attention, but our sample of 15 consults across six councils found a massive overrepresentation of homeowners and older folk.

Look at this graph.

The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened.

This is why we must build back union power.

Keating knocked his back saying achieving the honour of the highest office was reward enough.

Tim Walz: Minnesota is a purple state. When we took full power in 2022, we had a one seat majority. And what I said then was, we don't win elections to bank political capital so we can run again and win again, we burn it as fast as we can to improve people's lives, every bit of it.

Jane, the Nats are the Mining Party and apparently they have forgotten that the 'weather' was the single biggest factor, no the only factor, in reducing output in the last 12 months.
At risk of being rude, have others noticed the extreme irony of the National Party (self declared ‘friend of farmers’) breaking up the coalition because they oppose Net Zero while Australia languishes under extreme floods in NSW and extreme drought everywhere else? No? Just me, then?

When you see the majority of RW media foghorning for the wealthy- u know we need a complete media overhaul in this country.
