If the shit pouring out of X - on all fronts - were pouring out of any other media or publishing outlet, people would be up in court.

But apparently New Tech is High Magicke, in service of the great Basilisk (all hail the singularity) and cannot be constrained by the law of humans.

This shows the function of "independent" regulation. It is not to improve the working of an industry, but to allow the government to avoid responsibility.
Keir Starmer's spokesman tells me that X and Grok's creation of sexual deepfakes of children is "completely unacceptable" but again won't commit to taking direct action against them, or to stop posting there.

Says "all options are on the table" but suggests it's a matter for Ofcom, not Government

I’m reminded of Lost, big TV event that promised far more than it could ever deliver. Was huge at at the time but now it’s barely a footnote in the grand TV cannon except a reminder that we have moved on from the need of JJ Abrams.

Stranger Things was always paper thin nonsense that ripped off Silent Hill anyways.

Cool alternate dimension shenanigans? Nah, here’s some annoying kids explaining the plot for 5 hours.

I like being a fan of things, I sharing my enthusiasm of things with others into the same things. “Fandom” is cursed and only sees what they wanna see in a thing, theirs is the only one true way to enjoy a thing.
It’s ironic that Stranger Things, a show inspired by a conspiracy theory, is now the subject of a conspiracy theory.
Compelling evidence that ignores anything that doesn’t fit. The confusion of human mistake for agency. A desire for the world to be more exciting than it is.
A good case study.
The Stranger Thing fans who think a secret real ending is going to drop today have not considered that an extra episode could be worse. Or even if it’s good, that’s bad because the Duffers will have wasted everyone’s time even more.

Authoritarians routinely claim that laws which protect rights and constrain state abuse must be disregarded because they are no longer suitable or relevant for times of crisis and instability.

It is in those exact moments that those laws are most essential for humanity.

It's funny because he called the fascists gay. Do you get it? He owned them so hard by validating their belief that being gay is shameful. Master strategist.

It reminded me of a bit from a recent @juliusgoat.bsky.social piece. And that there are a lot of different kinds of abuse, all of them designed to exercise power over others.

If you're a pro-natalist, you can't be punishing people for having more kids. Unless you're going to make the case that some kids are inherently less desirable than others.
Nigel Farage confirms that Reform UK will vote *against* the bill to lift the two child cap, keeping hundreds of thousands of children in poverty.

No other word has done more damage to the craft of writing in recent years than “content”. Even if you’re using the word “content” ironically, or as a cute little joke, don’t. When someone calls writing “content” they’re pissing on someone’s hard work & passion. “Content” is Technosatan’s henchword.

I just think it's cute how, for years, people grandstanded about "WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE ALIVE DURING NAZI GERMANY'S GENOCIDE" and now that a scenario like that is happening, no one wants to oppose it. I guess what they would have done during Nazi Germany is get lost in a semantic fog!
palestine is the most important cause to me right now. more than trans rights. i think the liberation of palestine is the liberation of humanity itself. thats why i really cant abide by these fucking mealy mouthed libs talking out of both sides of their mouths. palestine matters.
