In a study following 23 million people age 18-59 (pretty young) for 4 years…despite the fact that the ones who got the COVID vaccine were overall older and sicker at baseline, they not only had 74% lower risk of dying from COVID than the unvaccinated but 25% lower risk of dying from any other cause!

News Team, Thank you for the notes and texts. I apologize for not reaching out earlier. I learned on Saturday that Bari Weiss spiked our story, INSIDE CECOT, which was supposed to air tonight. We (Ori and I) asked for a call to discuss her decision. She did not afford us that courtesy/opportunity. Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now-after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one. We requested responses to questions and/or interviews with DHS, the White House, and the State Department. Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed to kill the story. If the administration's refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we have effectively handed them a "kill switch" for any reporting they find inconvenient. If the standard for airing a story becomes "the government must agree to be interviewed," then the government effectively gains control over the 60 Minutes broadcast. We go from an investigative powerhouse to a stenographer for the state. These men risked their lives to speak with us. We have a moral and professional obligation to the sources who entrusted us with their stories. Abandoning them now is a betrayal of the most basic tenet of journalism: giving voice to the voiceless. CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that "low point." By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones. We have been promoting this story on social media for days. Our viewers are expecting it. When it fails to air without a credible explanation, the public will correctly identify this as corporate censorship. We are trading 50 years of "Gold Standard" reputation for a single week of political quiet. I care too much about this broadcast to watch it be dismantled without a fight. Sharyn

We're half a decade into studies finding that improving airflow in classrooms will reduce disease transmission enormously, and that bleaching surfaces etc. does very little. And yet nothing changes. Waves of flu and colds wash over schools, and the schools pretend it's an act of God.

ICE has been raiding my neighborhood and surrounding ones for the last couple of weeks now. They commandeered my local church (against the pastor's will) for a staging site and raided supermarkets, parks, Goodwills, bus stops, you name it.

The national media's been silent. So has @mayor.lacity.gov.

I have so many dreams that I wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin. We need more stories about us and our culture. You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. NEW from the PolyBio Symposium: UCSF is launching a combination trial for Long COVID, called COMBAT-LC. It will include Paxlovid (antiviral) and Pemgarda (monoclonal antibody). thesicktimes.org/2025/11/14/l...
Next, Peluso announced another new trial, called COMBAT-LC, which will test Paxlovid and the monoclonal antibody Pemgarda in combination. A recent preprint shared that Pemgarda improved Long COVID symptoms in a case series, adding to anecdotal reports from people who have tried the drug. This is also the first Long COVID clinical trial to stratify participants based on antigen positivity in their blood, Peluso said, and it may include a crossover option allowing people who initially receive a placebo to try Pemgarda later. We don’t know how SARS-CoV-2 persists in the body, Peluso said during his talk; just at today’s symposium, researchers presented evidence that it might be inactive genetic material, active genetic material, or even active viral replication. This person was infected with COVID twice and recovered. A 3rd infection brought manageable long COVID symptoms, but they were still able to work. After a 4th infection a few months ago, they haven’t recovered at all — showing how repeated infections can cause severe, lasting damage.

My infection in 2023 led to insomnia and increased anxiety, but I could still manage and work with Ambien for sleep and Ativan occasionally. This August I got another infection and all hell broke loose - internal vibrations, debilitating anxiety, constant flip-flopping feeling in my stomach, new phobias like driving, and I can't think anymore. I have such severe brain fog that it's scaring me. It feels like I've had a lobotomy. All my muscles are sore, including the ones in my head. It feels like a tight band squezing my brain all the time. I have constant sinus congestion and dizziness and high blood pressure now. It's hard to relax, ever. I've been out of work for 3 months. I have new paradoxical reactions or debilitating side effects with virtually every supplement and medication I've tried recently. Anihistamines make me hyperactive. Seroquel and trazadone do the same thing. Vitamin D gives me heart palpitations now. Magnesium makes me hyperactive too. SSRIs give me every side effect even at tiny doses. I can take small amounts of Ativan occasionally, but enough to actually calm my nervous system will give me a paradoxical reaction. It's exhausting and depressing. It feels like this virus has ripped apart my nervous system and I'm floundering. I've been searching this group for answers to all my symptoms, but it seems as if there are none. I guess "covidlonghaulers" is my new home while I hope for a miracle cure.

So I try not to give too many gory details about life with long covid, but I also think it’s important to give a clear picture of what can happen to anyone.

Over the last yearish, I’ve become allergic to more than 70 foods. Today I lost soy. I’m not how long I can keep eating at all.

I think a lot about the chance we had at the start of COVID to finally become a more compassionate, collectivist nation, and how profoundly we were failed not only by the sociopathic greed of the ruling class but by each other.

I know two people who got long covid from infections during doctor appointments where they couldn't easily mask (an MRI and an ENT exam). this is a very real risk.

And before anyone says anything - yes, there are MRI-safe respirators, most people don't know about them or have access to them.

Well fitting masks work very well, but my friend and his wife got Covid at a doctor’s appointment and it caused long term health problems for my friend. If people in the waiting room and clinic masked and used air filters, this wouldn’t happen. I think it’s wrong to get sick seeking medical care.
