Just finished Fintech Distopia. Worth the read. A worth critique of tech hype and the risks posed to the real economy of unregulated technology solutions.

Trump isn't the solution to the "crisis of manhood," he's the problem
The misogyny comes fast and furious. Anything real to make men's lives better? Not so much.

President Trump’s firing of the top data collector has few U.S. precedents. When other world leaders took similar steps, it rarely ended well. Economists say unbiased data is essential for policymaking, and for democracy.

Immigration is what makes America great. Anyone who would allocate $45B to get rid of immigrants simply hates this country.

It's not even a political argument, it's a structural truth.

Gravity is a relatively weak force, but if too much mass accumulates in one place, it becomes crushingly strong, distorting and disrupting everything around it.

This is why i say that billionaires are black holes

This. 1000x this. Unprecedented, open monetization of the presidency, first at his hotel every day in 2017-21, & now in even more unprecedentedly & overly corrupt & unconstitutional ways. And we've just yawned as a country. It's shameful. And everyone in Congress who swore oaths is violating them.
I’m still baffled at how America took one of the basic principles of the presidency — the occupant shouldn’t be able to benefit financially from the office — and just said, nah, that just doesn’t count for this one guy.
An international trucking logistics firm is buying as much as *** $20 MILLION *** worth of President Donald Trump’s crypto coins to influence the administration’s trade policy.

The number of Massachusetts cities where a typical starter home (the lowest third of home values) is worth at least $1 million was 0 in 2020.

In 2024, it was 10 cities.

In 2025, it's now 11 cities.

*Of course* advance information on US combat operations is classified. Pretending otherwise is an insult to our troops, who all know this.

Pete Hegseth is clearly ill-equipped to handle the role of Secretary of Defense. His repeated failure to follow basic operational security procedures jeopardizes the safety and security of our armed forces. He should resign.

This is not normal. This government gets closer and closer every day to declaring war on its own people.

This post is a clear and direct statement of intention to defy the Supreme Court and end rule of law in the United States.

This guy has family members. He has friends. He has neighbors. People may know him from church or softball or their kids’ hockey league or the corner store.

I hope they all see this photo. I hope they all recognize him.
This picture may haunt me to the end of my days.

It is an ICE agent taking an axe to the car window of an immigrant in New Bedford, MA. Not far from where I sit now. An immigrant with no criminal record was abducted by this smiling man.

An axe taken to a car window and to our democracy. 1/
