In year since Trump's return to office, here's a list of those targeted by his administration

The Democrats are very busy rushing to stay ahead of how they’re going to cave completely on the CR this time, but it’s nice that Patty Murray took some time out of her busy day caving to explain to the majority of Democratic voters in the country how they’re all just stupid and wrong

NEWS: No one filed to challenge two conservative/Republican justices on the Nevada supreme court who are up for reelection this year. The deadline was a few days ago.

They will run for new terms unopposed.

one of the political theoretical issues with the unitary executive, as i see it, is that it rethinks the presidency as an institution for the pursuit of a partisan political agenda, rather than as an office that imposes a duty — caretaker of the constitution.

It's so exhausting to to be constantly told by American leaders that the defining policy of the 80 odd years during which the US became the most wealthy and powerful country in the history of the world was a grossly unfair failure for them.
US trade secretary Howard Lutnick really not mincing his words here at Davos: "We are here to make a v clear point: globalisation has failed the West and the USA. It's a failed policy. It's what the WEF has stood for, which is, export, offshore, find the cheapest labour in the world."

tbh I think of this more practically, France spends Scandinavian taxation levels on regional development to get Canadian inequality, and everyone is much more upset about the setup vs a country like Japan, where an urban poor in a handful of dominant cities fund a vast rural patronage network.
A very conservative coded opinion I’ve now done a complete 180 on is just: instead of spending money on useless “economic development” funds or permanent welfare the government should just directly hand out piles of cash to people in deprived areas to move somewhere there’s jobs.

We cannot normalize this federal occupation of Minneapolis.

It is not normal to watch people abducted in front of our eyes—dragged from car windows, pulled from their homes, and children left without parents.

This is not about immigration. It’s about unchecked cruelty.

The UK did this deal, btw, at significant political and financial cost, so that the US could keep operating a crucial regional military base at Diego Garcia.

Donald Trump and Marco Rubio both welcomed the deal. There is nothing in it for the UK other than helping the US relationship. So: hmmmm.

This one is pretty easy to track: Trump has no idea where the Chagos Islands are, or their significance, or, significantly, that his administration backed the agreement last year; he does however know that Farage just tweeted about it.
