"Protocol dictates that “extra pickle” earns the customer one additional pickle. Fuck that: 2 handfuls whenever I get the extra pickle order. I call it the “pickle surprise,” it only happens when we’re slammed, so that they won’t complain and they’ll enjoy it. Probably my favorite thing to do"

Our local animal shelter hosts "kitty literature," where kids can sign up to read to the cats. It helps socialize the cats and promotes reading. Since the cats can't share the same names to avoid confusion with recordkeeping, the staff has to get creative. They usually follow a theme.
