Today, once again, I saw an indie studio owner defend GenAI as inevitable. I want to say once again: no, it's not. It's only as inevitable as you want it to be (especially as an owner) Do smaller, be smarter, don't use this shit.
And one other thing: we’re being told that AI is the only way to make games cheaper and faster, to pull us from this precipice of production nightmares the industry has found itself in. That it’s necessary.
We put out roughly 3 motherfucking games a year, not touching the stuff.

Un argument ça peut être que c'est une bonne façon d'attendre que ça remonte. Il n'y a pas moins de joueureuses donc pas de raison que ça ne remonte pas quand on aura compris que les jeux ne se font pas avec de l'IA. En tous cas il va y avoir pas mal moins de AAA/AA dans quelques années...

Well not sure about that. I have seen a lot of jobs being only shared privately (posting on the afjv means you'll have so many applications to review, and a lot of them will be irrelevant, as people are rather desperate)

Frightening, but it matches my impressions and job seekers' experiences :-/ Is it only job offers or actual jobs? (I think in the actual climate, a lot more jobs are never publicly on the market)

Espérons que ça s'améliore quand même. Savoir raconter des histoires, c'est pas ce qui paie le mieux des factures, mais je ne vois pas pourquoi ça deviendrait un jour inutile ! 🌸

Soutien ! C'est pas le plus fun,a cause de l'aspect répétitif (mais tjrs vachement plus que de faire le dossier/contrat, les factures et de réclamer les sous, des fois que ça aide a relativiser ;) )

Ugh... Now I would need also a guide about which films have AI and which does not. A lot of friends in VFX said it's replacing workers super fast in this industry (worse than video games) and they don't seem to be able to do anything about it :-/

Pour les 3 premières années post bac je recommande aussi les BUT MMI partour en France. Une partie font de l'alternance (ou vous êtes payés et pas l'école) et le contenu est tb 💖 Il y a des quotas de bac STI donc meme si c'est selectifs les bac STI ont de bonnes chances.
