Say hello to our new modern fare gates! These gates are designed to improve accessibility, help deter fare evasion, and speed up entering/exiting a station.

We're testing several types of gates over the next few months with the goal of eventually adding them at 150 stations across all 5 boroughs.

You know how right wing trolls keep saying urban crime is really high but the real numbers are hidden?

It turns out that's what Florida is actually doing.

An important factor at play in the free-fares vs. reduced-fares-for-low-income-people debate: A means-tested program will inevitably result in a large share of eligible people not using it.

The documentation required for NYC fair fares is a hurdle for some people, notably undocumented people.

Auckland Council and Auckland Transport from 2026 are looking returning streets back to the people. That is allowing streets to serve their purpose of being extensions of living and social interaction spaces.

This is excellent to see. Note, this applies to streets not roads. Big difference!
