If you'd like to read my story about the akaname in my bathroom, it's called MUD LICKER, based on Japanese folklore. It appears in the anthology LIKE A MYTH (2009). It's erotic horror & I published it as Elizabeth Black. The book is erotica.

I'm working on the last book in the dark supernatural urban fantasy Meridian series under my other name. Angels, gargoyles, demons, witches, vampires, werewolves... All standalones (so you can read whichever), and all a fun, super spicy time.

I'm Michael, I write queer cosmic & supernatural horror.

Every queer person has had to overcome long odds in a world filled with remote, hostile forces and their human agents among us. We need stories about surviving them and about being stronger for it.

Thank you Eryn and #HorrorWritersChat people.

This time of year makes us grateful for a warm place to sleep and turns our thoughts to those who don’t.

This charity anthology (which includes my story “A Tall, Thin House”) benefits women and children experiencing homelessness.

I have a novelette out next week in this anthology: www.amazon.co.uk/Cthulhu-Cymr...

It's weird, queer, and kinda soggy.

Latest: CHILDREN OF SOLITUDE, queer Appalachian cosmic horror about a prickly queen, his dead mother, and the porn star next door.

Next: THE COME BACK KIDS, about a lapsed Cthulhu cultist, his new boyfriend, and evil children.

Evening all! William Beck here.

For me, my writing is a flashlight in the dark. A beacon trained on the troubles we face in life, to inspire hope & will to survive. It's all about scaring away the darkness that threatens to consume us. And that's why I call it Hopeful Horror.

#HorrorWritersChat Q3:

I'd forgotten. I kept the thing covered for so long.

That heavy sheet hiding any specters or peering eyes that may have pierced me. But past the dust and the glare, it's just a mirror.

As unfamiliar as the years have made me, the only hateful face I have to meet is my own.
Of course I'm going to do a writing prompt. Of course I am.
Go to.
I'm waiting.

Any description of battle gets put off. I find these scenes very hard to write without being spatially confusing. Just my luck—my novel in progress is full of pistol and knife fights. I'm comforted knowing that most writers aren't very good at this stuff, either. Homer was.

Q3:
Here at #HorrorWritersChat we really do like to peel back those insecurities and fears and expose them to the light. You can do this.
Which scene do you keep putting off? And why?

I'm Stephanie Ellis, writer of gothic, folk horror, post-apocalyptic/dystopian.
Different reasons. Folk horror is driven by nostalgia for my rural childhood, postapocalyptic is very much a comfort blanket (go figure 😅), whilst East End gothic touches on family history interests.

Greetings #HorrorWritersChat

I'm Mary from Greater Manchester (UK), where I write cosmic, gothic, and Weird horror with themes of transformation, sacrifice, revenge, and acceptance.

I'm drawn to these subgenres because they allow me to explore my themes in deeper, stranger ways.
Plus: tentacles.

Hi, I’m Theodore Snapdragon, queer SFF writer, including spec horror.
I’ve always been fascinated by horror; it’s so intense.

I struggle with anxiety, clinical levels of it. Horror gives an outlet to express and share, to be with others in my experience of fear rather than alone.
