Hi, I am Tristan. I like writing monsters with the occasional killer. I recommend reading Christmas and Other Horrors. A great winter solstice and holiday collection of short stories by a lot of the GOAT horror writers working today.

Splatterpunk founder John Skipp has new commentary out about the segment THIS MEANS WAR from the anthology film TALES OF HALLOWEEN. Check out the commentary! I interviewed Skipp for The Horror Zine and The Horror Tree. He's a righteous dude.

Merry Chr*stmas, one and all. Here’s a heart-warming tale that I wrote for this time of year. It’s called ‘Christmassy’.

Reader advisory: a) it’s gruesome and sick b) it’s British-centric, so apologies if you don’t get many of the references.

Thanks so much for organising!

I'd love people to take a look at The Nine O'Clock Horses, my brand-new Magnus Archives-inspired collection of horror shorts

It's got urban legend, autophagia, human monstrosity... and a hefty dose of suburban paranoia

Thanks for hosting this week, Mary. I had a blast, as always. Wanted to be here for Christmas Eve, too. Here are some Icelandic traditions - Grýla, the Yule lads, and the Yule cat. My story BETTER WATCH OUT BETTER NOT CRY is based on Icelandic folklore.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

'Twas the day before #Christmas and there was a #HorrorWritersChat to tell. Fear not, Mary handled it well! Okay, corniness aside, great job hosting. I've got a lot to promote. The first two things relate to The #ShadowBoxArchives. The first is my Bible-based horror story recently a featured story

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart,
Then the very next day, you wanted my spleen.
This year, I'm just grisle and bones,
So please leave to scream alone...

#HorrorWritersChat Q3:

I would start with snow falling gently, seen through a window. A cracking fire in an old well used hearth. And finally a fresh cut tree, sat in the corner, ready to trim.

I want to evoke a sort of traditional festive scene with a touch of isolation and loneliness.
Time to get festive #HorrorWritersChat

What three things would you include in a festive horror story to show the time of year without saying a specific holiday?

Think about the senses, scenes, and small details.

#HorrorWritersChat Q2

I think I'd give the protagonist of my Birch Island series, Owen, keys to the basement vault.

He really wants to know what's in there. I'm not sure how he'd react... but I know what would happen next.
