These are times that feel rife with mourning, for what was and what might be. I have a friend who shared this photo ~12 yrs ago. She had stacked some artichokes on a plate as a decorative centerpiece. Over time they shriveled and blackened into dried husks, looking lifeless and gray…

Are camera-enabled glasses that can, unbeknownst to you, video record you an invasion of privacy?
Smart glasses record people in public. The most online generation is pushing back.
Contrary to stereotype, young people are pushing for clearer consent and better digital privacy in conversations about smart glasses like Meta’s Ray-Bans.

Ask him why so many air traffic controllers are retiring at once. Ask him if it has anything to do with Reagan firing 11K union strikers in 1981 and having to replace them all at once. Ask him how the mass firings this year will impact us the same way 40 years from now. Ask him, Jake.

50-year mortgages? Bad idea and irrelevant anyway for many. Today, a typical 1st-time home buyer is 40 yrs old. (I was 26 when I bought my first home, decades ago.) Median price of a home is $435K (My first home cost $77K.) With price inflation not matched with like increases in income level

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Trump isn’t going to do anything to address ridiculous prices, but he will let you mortgage a house for 50 years!

His banker buddies will LOVE that. A $400,000 house will cost you a million dollars over 50 years.

What’s next, 10 year auto loans? 🤢
Trump and his cronies are now pushing 50-year mortgages.

Buckle up. This is going to make the 2008 mortgage crisis look like the good old days.
