In age terms, I would've been the age of a Gen Z'er when I purchased my first home. Today, only 3% of Gen Z'ers are first-time home buyers. 46% of homes purchased in 2024 were by those aged 60+, many being 2nd homes or retirement homes. That 50-year mortgage is not a fix but rather a financial trap.

Average monthly gross income to afford monthly mortgage/ property tax/ home insurance payments would be near $10K/mo. or $120K annually, or more. The avg US national salary is $63K. No wonder younger buyers are struggling to find their American dreams.

Probably one of those aliens, also undocumented, I presume.
