I can't be the only one noticing that rockist old curmudgeons grousing about how "No one makes great music anymore" are often the same ones trashing new artists who either ARE making great music that doesn't sound like classic rock, or trashing new artists for sounding TOO MUCH like classic rock.

Yes but also TBF, quite a lot of those 338 friends will also have similar friends to me, from the same networks.

The important thing is *which* distinct networks of inter-hopping you're close to.

If a good proportion of people I know (1 hop), are 1-2 from a terrorist, there's a problem.
"Three hops" came up a lot during the Snowden files.

If you have the average number of Facebook friends (338), you are within "three hops" of 38 million people. Three hops from a "terrorist organization or…affiliate" is enough to make every single person on the planet a target for a deadly strike.
Off the top of my head, in terms of degrees of separation I managed to get from myself to *Jimi Hendrix* in "three hops," this is a WILD assertion to make

Interesting how they gave La Voix a go at Tess' pickups. I know it was a joke but... It could be a good solution to next year's presenting crisis.

Another nice example of centre and left votes lining up behind the best candidate to beat Reform.
Bromsgrove South (Worcestershire) Council By-Election Result:

🔶 LDM: 51.9% (+20.3)
➡️ RFM: 33.4% (-1.5)
🌳 CON: 11.3% (-5.8)
🌹 LAB: 3.4% (-4.1)

No GRN (-5.5) or Ind (-3.4) as previous.

Liberal Democrat GAIN from Reform.
Changes w/ 2025.

It remains so strange to me the way nerds behave about women in "their" spaces.

Setting aside that women were and are a huge part of the Trek Fandom (and were central in creating what it became), shouldn't you want women who share your interests?

These people are so beyond fucked in the head

The breaking down of anti-racism norms *in elite circles* in British politics is starkly at odds with the direction of public opinion on race.
Conservative Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp repeatedly refusing to say that he thinks Reform MP Sarah Pochin saying she doesn't like seeing black people on TV was racist.

Says he wouldn't use her "language" but it's right for her to express "legitimate concerns" about migration

What do they do?

Play badly, and if they start sounding good, the Dr knows something's wrong?
