@ap.brid.gy Is there a known issue following accounts from Pleroma?

"[error] Object rejected while fetching bsky.brid.gy/ap/ivan.vuci... {:containment, :err}" (same for DID URI)

Not sure what that would be, code mentions origin and such git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pler... (and containment.ex)

I wonder if it takes some time for @ap.brid.gy to notice I disabled the logged-out "discourage apps [from showing profile]" option and how long until it generates an AP profile for this account.

At some point bsky.brid.gy/ap/ivan.vuci... should start working

somebody asked how you'd maintain the system while migrating and keeping it functioning, and this much of why huge data projects take forever: because the safest, must-not-fail way is "run both at once with a broker at the end checking the work", and then you have to also write (and test) the broker

if you ask Claude to Java-ify some COBOL, it'll do it. it'll go make classes (they'll look a little weird because it tries to keep fixed record lengths, it actually made char arrays when I tried) and then write out some logic, but it is Not Going To Do Your Migration for you

It’s been 30 days, so now the X account derived from my old Twitter account is gone.

X has demonstrated repeatedly that Twitter is gone and I no longer hold sentimentality for “hey I had an account since 2009 / 2010”.

Twitter and therefore my account has been actually gone since October 2022z

seeing a couple of those “make sure you open your kids’ new games console and install updates before xmas” posts and yeah maybe a good tip for some but read the room i guess cos that would have made me sad, the setup and tinkering and ~anticipation~ was all part of the fun for me

Scroop test:
Treasure Planet's ship was CG. I thought it'd be cool to have camera motion for his scenes. I animated his lower body in CG set and his upper body performance on paper.
Unfortunately the film didn't have many camera moves to need this approach.

I wouldn’t ever mean it this far (who am I going to be able to punch?), though sometimes seeing interactions online and ease with which people say or do things makes me wonder.

No matter how much I mute individual words, on this ecosystem, it seems impossible to escape political content from a country that’s more than an ocean away from me.

Or escape other people’s struggles.

These days I just want some safe escapism, peppered with some tech info and news.

pdsls.dev is very insightful: I just spotted that the identity of everyone you block on Bluesky is publicly visible, too - a part of your Bluesky repository. When you unblock them, the entry is gone from your repo, but nonetheless, it is visible.

So I just checked my computer for this and it was installed and turned on and I’m fairly certain it was making my computer totally unusable because I can suddenly do things like open Gmail, and empty browser tabs. What horrible malware.

At some point Logitech started bundling GPT software with their mouse software. I found this out because it was causing MASSIVE system instability on my machine. They silently rolled this stuff out and it's not only something I didn't need or want, but it's actively harming my system.

Yesterday I went and visited a friend who I haven’t seen in 15 years. He’s a steward of the national park in Hawaii and lives in the middle of the rain forest.

I totally get it now.

Muting and blocking is possible based on words in posts. Nice! I’d like to mute based on the account profile, to preemptively hide toxic interactions.

Tentatively created an account. Due to persistent design of activities alice.bsky.sh/post/3laega7... (see Relay section - I am not sure how respected deletes are) I am unlikely to actually post here regularly. Looks like migration to self host works but it still goes to Relay and can be mirrored.
