This evening's view of #Saturn with Titan shadow transit. Somewhat blurry shot under adverse conditions (even getting rained on) but I'm happy to have caught it at all. 1000 x 50 ms RGB in Celestron 8" + ADC + 2.5x powermate.
That was intense
I just woke up from a nap and somehow while I was asleep, everyone on the bus has figured out we are not going to the right place

This is literally what I've been writing and podcasting about for years. I was planning to do an essay on this, but here's a 🧵.

The main reason is psychology. Due to personal, family, and cultural histories, some people are inherently scared of the world.
Fight and help win a world war.

Establish a global order that cements your national power for 80 years.

Blow it all up.

What am I missing?

We felt the shift. It didn’t matter that we have experience, earned degrees and head households. We were ‘too uppity’ in wanting success that didn’t completely involve service to everyone.
A decision was made in nov 2024 that was not simply a repudiation of one Black woman

But a repudiation of Black womanhood

Portugal is having a presidential election tomorrow (Sunday).

It is a fairly unusual one, which is representative of how much the political landscape has changed in the country.

Here is some quick context about it, in case that is of interest:

in any case, i have been a vocal critic of trump for a decade. i want nothing more than to see trumpism purged from this country. my view is that this will only be accomplished by a deep and nuanced understanding of where trump is strong and where he is weak.

JWST captured a missing link in galaxy evolution: the time when their central black holes began to form. These young, fast-eating black holes look a lot different than expected, creating the enigmatic Little Red Dots.
