Here is my Space Review article. 5000 words about the 1970s dispute between the CIA and the Air Force over the range of the Backfire bomber. A lot of declassified sources and a lot of shoe leather went into this.

Taken 58 years ago today, this KH-4B CORONA spy satellite image is the earliest satellite capture (to my knowledge) of a soviet N1 rocket, in this case a prototype, on the launch pad at Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The first capture is down and it's pretty neat!

Being able to capture the entire coastal section of Cape Canaveral SFS & Kennedy Space Center is one swoop is very useful.

Malmö, Sweden captured by a KH-7 GAMBIT spy satellite using color film on July 19, 1966 during mission 4030.

4030 was the first KH-7 mission to fly for 8 days, the longest mission flown by that series of satellites.
