This remarkable spy satellite image of Dublin was taken a week before Ireland began to change (very, very slowly) forever. The "Bishop and the Nightie" controversy in February 1966 was a landmark moment.

@juliabergeronnsf.bsky.social reminded me of the coolest spaceflight history images out there.
The home of Roy Roberts passing NASA's iconic Vertical Assembly Building while being relocated from it's original location which is now within Kennedy Space Center.

A few days ago, an old service tower at Baikonur Cosmodrome's Launch Complex 45 was demolished.
The tower was previously used to tend to Zenit vehicles before launch.
This Umbra SAR satellite image shows the demolished tower, as well as the remaining tower next to it.

This article is another great example of using CIA Photographic Intelligence Reports (PIRs) to filter through the millions of CORONA, GAMBIT, and HEXAGON scenes and find something notable (in this case, R-16 ICBMs).

People who share satellite imagery while knowingly breaking the licence because 'i don't care' are the ones who ruin it for the rest of us.
It's hard enough to get usable imagery as it is.
