Our Solar System is orbiting the center of our Galaxy at about 220 km/s so in 2025 we collectively traveled something like 7 billion kilometers across the Milky Way. Once in a while, when you have a moment, it’s worthwhile to take a look around, see where you are, and appreciate how far you’ve come.

Grew up in rural Florida in the 80s/90s. We had lots of HS parties that involved alcohol weed etc. You know what we didn’t do? As a rule no one would get behind a wheel if they were partaking. Sober kids gave rides but mostly ppl crashed where they were. Even the outdoors. 🤷♀️
You do not, in fact, have to put other people’s lives in danger to enjoy yourself in a rural area, and no amount of “you city folk just don’t understand” will change that.

This is great. I think the whole idea of accommodation should rightly be an invitation to reject an ableist, eugenicist approach to the world and instead ask "What if we want to give *everyone* the chance to do their best?"

I'm personally boggled that anyone still uses paper cheques (that'd be "checks" for the Americans).
I mean... you carry around a little booklet of pocket-sized slips with your name, address and banking information on them, and just... give them out, to random underpaid strangers in retail stores?
