I knew the Moana remake was gonna look bad, but I never expected it to look *this* awful.

Have learnt from Andrea Cau that French palaeontologist Philippe Taquet died yesterday, aged 85. Taquet published a substantial amount on north African and French #dinosaurs, including Ouranosaurus, spinosaurids, the dromaeosaurid Pyroraptor and much more.

Sad news regarding a dinosaur artist whose work was a major influence on me and just about everyone else I know who grew up on 90s-2000s dinosaur media. Check out the thread for more examples of his work!
Got informed about some sad news. Garfield Minott, a prolific dinosaur modeller, special effects and palaeoartist, recognised for contributions to the description of dinosaur binocular vision, passed away at age of 58.

when a certain high-profile author was revealed to be a fucking monster, I had to reckon with the fact that I found his books at a very formative time, and that his influence will always be part of me. I have to carry that. It sucks! But it doesn't behoove us to pretend monsters can't make art too.

That Carcharodontosaurus head still looks incredible to this day and basically defined my image of the animal for years.
