I wrote a short piece to stretch out my writing muscles. I don't know if I'll be able to work on comics again, so light novels may be the path going forward.

Anyway... Here's Casco meeting Rebecca.
Behind the smoke of the double-barrel, Father Casco tilted his helmet head. With the whirl of machines and clicks of cogs, the hot firearm sheathed itself into his armored wrist. His voice, distorted though the filter of his faceplate, called out. “My apologies. I did not realize it was you.” Opposite of him in the shanty cabin was a woman. Her wild hair obscured her face as she panted with hands on knees. Her jeans and flannel, torn asunder by the cyborg’s weapon, still plumed with gun powdered smoke. Her scarred face snarled, pellets falling from her form like grounded pepper. She was unwounded. “Fucking dick… you did that on purpose. Silver or not, it still hurts to be shot at!” Casco turned his head, optics flashing with a soft beep. He seemed to ignore her, assessing their surroundings. He refocused when she continued her barking. “What the hell are you doing up north, Padre!? I thought your specialty was cleaning up radioactive monsters, not the demonic type.” “Fallout is its own hell, Rebecca. One of humanity's making.” “God, not another sermon.” Casco shrugged, placing his hands on his hips. He had to emote his disappointment to make up for the lack of face. “You don't need a sermon, Rebecca, you need a shrink… and going off my olfactory sensors, a bath.” Rebecca spat out a tongue. Her thick brows furrowed her face into a wolfish scowl. She parsed her lips to curse out the cybernetic clergy, but only a growl left her stomach. Her eyes widened and she pulled at her hair with a turned glance. Casco lowered his arms, steel fingers unfurling. A soft sigh vented out of him. “When did you last eat?” “... Two weeks ago.” “Human?” “No! God no… It was a moose. Just a moose.” Rebecca refused to look at the priest. Her face twisted once more, expressing a mix of inconvenient embarrassment and dreadful shame. Casco’s eyes flashed once more with a low hum. His voice was soft when he addressed her again. “Let me make you something… I think you'd appreciate some rehydrated birria right about now…” The werewolf scoffed, her scowl lowering into a soft smile. She bit her lip slightly with a very pronounced canine. “Share your bread with the hungry, right?” “A sermon, Rebecca?” “Yeah, now practice what I preach and let's grub.”
