A free-to-play PVP shooter, Highguard had a strong launch--around 100,000 people were playing on Steam on its first day--but couldn't sustain those numbers, in ways that...look, you know what, why am I even talking about those figures, writers always do that when talking about layoffs like this, is there even much point trying to dissect the numbers of a game that took years to make, but where ‘most’ of the team gets laid off just two weeks after it came out? Loads of people are now reportedly out of a job, and whatever reasons people can offer or accept for it, none of it seems sane or sustainable.

Just got really stuck typing the phrase "if I don't stop bleeding" as part of a message I need to send.

So I'm just gonna blast it out*:

I am scared and frustrated right now because I have an embarrassing medical issue (IT'S MY BUTT) that is taking the system a very long time to react to.

Really need to figure out what I'm doing on this one.
Very large mixed media painting on canvas, photographed on a metal easel in the corner of a classroom. The painting reaches almost to the edges of the photograph. Most of the composition is a roughly applied, slightly marred blue field that goes to the top and left and right edges of the canvas, but does not cover the whole surface. Many blue splatters and drips run down from the bottom of the blue field, covering complexly layered collage elements. In the lower left side, on top of the white primed layer, above an empty area of canvas, with one blue drip running through it, there is an orange square thickly outlined and encapsulating a black collage element with small white text reading "Oil and Water". A small chunk of orange and dull yellow-gold paint sit opposite that, nested against the far right side of the canvas. The text in the collage layers reads, next to a 1940's comic "why are ye needin' a shotgun?", "...and they'll come marching down our streets", "Mr.-and-Mrs. Public", and "G'bye boys, it's... bug-a-boo". Clipped and covered imagery of the Virgin Mary and more text, with a headline reading "ALLIED BOMBS HERALD INVA-" are both interrupted by chaotic layers of paint. The painting is unfinished.

A diptych started in 2018. These started during a lesson/prompt to collaborate. Not sure what was created during that session versus added after.

As I veered into fan art, these started to just sit and collect dust and scuffs. Then I moved across the country and they didn't make the trip.
A large mixed media painting on unevenly applied gesso, stained by bright white drips and splatters and roughly sprayed graffiti. The images from the collage are a skull, a crow with some white feathers flying towards a disconnected moon, a diagram of the human heart, a snarling lion, and text that reads "Escape". The skull, bird, and moon are organized on a diagonal, running from the bottom left side of the canvas to the right top corner. "Escape" is tucked slightly beneath some noisy splatters and the pasted down diagram of the human heart, with the snarling lion and other clipped and illegible samples that run horizontally across the bottom third of the canvas, just above some un-primed area that is dirty and scuffed with age. A large mixed media painting with some lightly speckled splatters of yellow, above slightly chunkier splatters of black, atop collage and unevenly applied white gesso. Some black and red graffiti is scrawled across the painting in distorted glyphs, with a large white star in the top right corner of the canvas. The collage elements include a clipping of a man and a woman on a motorcyle, cut to remove their heads and the background of the image at about shoulder level, also clipping at the bottom, with their ankles and the lower portion of the bike missing. There is a compass rose, some Asian language newspaper clippings, aged advertisements, and flowers, with red and white text reading "guardian, split into two lines of 4 letter each. Another phrase is visible in the background that reads "The Eyes Have It" in blocky letters.

Abstract painting with multi-colored, angular, chaotic streaks on the left and right sides of the canvas. The color sits on top of a space that is only about 80% primed, with lots of rough texture, streaks, and splatters in the gesso under-layers. The colored areas are mixed and juxtaposed with bright pinks and purples, blues, and muted oranges and greys, with some neutral and muted, while others are more vibrant and bright. There are sharp colored pencil and pastel markings scratched quickly and violently across various areas, with some splatters visible under multiple layers of white gesso, blocking out colors and textures alike.
