Something I wish got challenged more often in this “men in crisis” discourse is the blithe assumption (or sometimes outright assertion!) that everyone’s boss is a woman now. “Women now dominate white collar work and corporate management roles.” No they don’t. That just isn’t true.

Seeing news re the regime finding ways to limit food & housing assistance with ideas of self-sufficiency, demonstrating true need and I just want every single corporation and billionaire who receives any tax break, incentive, grant, forgiveness, etc to go through that kind of audit and consequences.

I still can’t believe that a NaNoWriMo I started in 2018 revolved around this very concept, as an outgrowth of the next thing after the crypto boom. Like, another case of “no use trying to finish that story bc it’s actually a thing now.”

As a feminist, it’s wild to me how it’s always the people “defending” men who act like it’s just a given that men as a group are inherently shitty people who have all done terrible things
Flippant remarks like this come from a place of believing that the only way we win back men os by leaning into their bigotries, which apparently starts with letting a guy that kept a nazi tattoo on his chest for 18 years & said bigoted things online for years be the Democratic senatorial nominee.
