Donald Trump said during a White House news conference that high tariffs on goods from China will “come down substantially, but it won’t be zero”.

Let me explain how I can be both optimistic the rest of the world will avoid a global recession, but pessimistic about the United States. Betting markets reckon it's more likely than not that the U.S. will slip into recession this year.

Human rights violations? Not at all akin to ICE abducting Grade 3 children from classroom and deporting to overcrowded and undersupplied concentration camps, or illegally deporting US citizens off to El Salvador death camp, or treatment of Palestinians in Israel. Difference? SA victims are - white.
