Way early in my career, I helped represent a man from Cameroon seeking asylum. We prevailed. He was granted asylum and eventually got legal status. Worked for DoD in contracting for a time. Got a master’s and PhD here!

If the admin sends him back, he’ll be killed.
Hello. Do you know that African Asylum seekers - two of whom are people I know, one who escaped enslavement and the other saw her father killed in front of her - are being told in court that they will be sent to Uganda for processing?

And now their attorneys have to fight that?

This is my least popular post relating to Epstein from the past week.

It is wild to me that so many people believe the Epstein files will ultimately be the thing to take down Trump.

If we were on that path, *this* wouldn’t be a controversial take.
Sexual violence is where men learn to abuse their power.

Any history of sexual violence perpetration should be permanently disqualifying from holding public office.

Tear gas is banned in international warfare, yet classified as a “riot control agent” that law enforcement can use for crowd control.

“It just doesn’t work well, and it hits the weakest people the most, and causes the most complications in them,” an anesthesiology professor at Duke University said.

When Renee Good said "I'm not mad at you" what the ICE goon heard was "I'm not scared of you."

That's what enraged him. The populace wasn't fully terrorized and cowed into submission yet, so he acted to make that happen.

just seeing the words “I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act” feels revelatory actually???

especially with Senate Dems considering INCREASING their budget

you’ve gotta hope at least that if they’re not listening to us, they’re listening to the angry House reps who know where their offices are
The tragic death of Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year old mother fatally shot by ICE, shows that ICE can’t be reformed and must be abolished.

I’ll be introducing the Abolish ICE Act as a step toward justice, accountability, and humanity in our immigration policy.

Time to melt ICE.

Watch the clip. ICE shooter was not in danger; she was murdered for disobeying.

May this be the year Gazans find safety and the international protection to which they’re entitled. May Adham see the future he deserves.
It has been a year heavy with pain… a year in which we lost parts of ourselves, of our lives, and of our humanity.

Yet, we cling to the hope that the new year will be a small space for hope… for dignity… and for the new beginnings we deserve.

Happy New Year, my friends 💛
