Twisting military code, the Trump administration says “all orders” from the president are “lawful orders,” and troops have no right to question him. trib.al/M0jcTz3

The comments come as Hegseth weighs court-martialing a Democratic senator for his part in a video reminding troops to follow the law.

Anyway, it's kind of insane that Carville's claim to fame was getting a candidate 43% in a presidential election (the lowest winning share of the popular vote since Woodrow Wilson) and we've had to hear from him non-stop for three+ decades.

Minnesota’s Democrats in Congress say they will push to undo a federal ban on intoxicating hemp products before it takes effect in a year and upends the state’s market for low-dose THC products.
Minnesota Democrats in Congress look to reverse federal ban on hemp THC products
It’s unclear if Minnesota’s GOP congressmembers will seek a fix, though Rep. Tom Emmer has appeared open to it.

Not the main point but every time I see this photo I can't get past the fact that it looks like Serena Joy from Handmaids Tale and the Hamburgler got together and did a bloodless coup
American life and America itself are now being shaped—in terrible, even tragic ways—by people who really did mislead and outright lie to Congress under oath.
We’re Led by an Administration of Liars
Trump insisted Comey be prosecuted for supposedly lying to Congress—but his own administration is full of officials who lied to Congress.

I respectfully disagree with Kyle. Currie says Bondi couldn't ratify Halligan's indictment after the statute of limitations. She does NOT say that a future, validly appointed U.S. Attorney (interim or otherwise) is barred from bringing a NEW indictment under §3288 (she leaves that possibility open).
MORE: Judge Currie basically slams the door on re-indicting Comey here. She notes that "there is no legitimate peg" to extend the expired Sept. 30 statute of limitations. The window for James is a little wider. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

Reading this just after watching a TikTok of Latino parents evacuating their children from the back of a school bus when they learned ICE was raiding nearby in Charlotte, NC. The driver opened up both front and emergency exit doors to let the children out faster.

That's what's NOT needed in UK. ☹️

I read “It is hard to imagine that taking place in Britain” initially as “thank goodness”. Then I realised that Phillips *wants* this for Britain! He wants a Britain where visible minorities live in fear of abduction and deportation? WTAF?
Just a jaw-dropping paragraph in Trevor Phillips's column for The Times.

This is a policy that, by his own account, has left parents of a particular race too frightened to walk their children to school.

And that's the example he chooses of the "vigour" we "need".

Firelei Bàez is very much influenced by afrofuturism, science fiction, afrosurrealism.

One work included a painting of Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower. Two room-sized installations referenced Afro-Carribean deities, the Drexciya mythology, and various cosmologies (Glissant!).
