A person with #chronicillness that leaves them intermittently disabled. I will not go down quietly, neither should you.
I believe your status in life doesn’t change your status as a person. You have a right to life

This is the movement I think many of us in the #disability and #chronicillness communities have been awaiting. I found a like minded person on another platform and since then they took the initiative to create a group part of ‪@indivisible.org‬. Focus on national level issues. Virtual meetings.
Hi!
We're a newly formed Indivisible group, In Dis Visible. We plan to start by focusing on issues that affect the disabled community nationally.
Neurodivergent, chronic illness, visible and invisible disabilities, all are welcome!

Who do you think we should follow?

MUST WATCH: Oceanside CA: Militarized DHS (HSI) smashed windows, assault rifles drawn, tossed flashbangs and sent drones into the apartment which had 2 kids inside. They then told neighbors they were going to use tear gas, and they’d probably be exposed. Please share widely. WTF

Hi, this is Meg Barnette, Brad's wife.

While escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, Brad was taken by masked agents and detained by ICE.

This is still developing, and our team is monitoring the situation closely.

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.

He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.

He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.

This is political intimidation.
Whoa! NYC mayoral candidate and current city Comptroller Brad Lander seemingly arrested at the NYC immigration court while attending to escort someone attending their hearing.
Lander just got detained by federal agents as he tried to escort a man out of the courtroom. Lander was taken in an elevator with masked agents, along with one member of his NYPD security detail.

I lost my heart
the moment
you looked away.
It slipped
from my chest
without warning
or sound.
Now I carry
this hollow
where warmth
used to live.
The self I knew
dissolves
in your absence.
Your name
is stitched
into everything
I feel.
And I am
no longer
mine.

“If ICE is going to wear a mask in their uniform, then I can.”

In August, Nassau County lawmakers passed a bill banning the public from wearing masks. Protesters showed up today masked anyway. We asked them why.

The Nazis targeted disabled people first & pioneered the term “useless eater”

They convinced the masses that we were less than”. People taking up resources & not contributing in any way.

When Dr Oz says we must “prove our worth” to get Medicaid, he’s just resurrecting the concept.

Don’t let him

The Ugly Laws are coming back.
“This bill effectively discourages ALL masking - during an airborne pandemic and with another potential pandemic looming due to continued spread of H5N1. It WILL cost lives”

Bringing back an old article in light of the No Kings protester who was arrested for masking:
North Carolina Passes HB 237 and Bans Medical Masks in Public
This discriminatory and ableist bill puts lives at risk and further isolates vulnerable people from society. It's pandering to anti-maskers who seek to punish disabled and high risk individuals.

Guess who has ME/CFS. It’s me 🎉 I already knew it, but now a doctor said it so that makes it is real.

I’m joking, but it can feel overwhelming always advocating for your health while trying to maintain it.

There are six days left to make comments about it.

Add onto that the most affordable method of travel would be trains or buses. Places in which people are not required to make accessible by masking. What am I supposed to do? Walk to Canada or Mexico?

No. They expect us to let society ease its way closer back to ugly laws and eugenics.
I can't help but thinking of all the poor disabled people who can't afford to travel to get updated vaccines because who knows how much longer they'll be covered by insurance/available in the US.
