I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?

Not even cosplay because cosplay is about both hard work AND outcomes

this is just a good old fashioned sham
If the outcomes aren't the most important thing, it's not even politics. Politics is literally about the outcomes. What he's describing here is cosplaying.

me, halfway through the draft: what if you were beloved of a god and it was terrible. what if you could stay his hand and temper his choices, except the last one who tried that was a goddess and he killed her anyway. what if

That’s why I say keep calling.
I recognize this is, to some extent, cope/bargaining, but

this is the the first of several votes necessary to end the shutdown, right? so even the present unfathomable fecklessness doesn't mean it's over over, and there are multiple potential blockage points ahead to reject a no-concessions 'deal'?

Warner is up for reelection. He was widely seen driving towards surrender behind the scenes, but he's voting no in public because it's unpopular. The real question is whether he supports a senate leadership change. If not, someone who supports senate leadership change should primary him.
But I cannot support a deal that still leaves millions of Americans wondering how they are going to pay for their health care or whether they will be able to afford to get sick.
