Something I've noticed in my dealings is the men who buy into this bs would likely not have "made it" before "anyone cared about diversity" b/c they are either terminally unremarkable, unserious, or wholly lacking in charism (or all three); they eat up the ego-saver that the world is against them.

Wasn't much online this December so I missed Folks Recommending Watchmen As A First Comic Season & I just want to say: Watchmen is not a good first comic, you really need the context of having read other comics, (esp. superhero comics) to fully enjoy it.

Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.
Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.

suspect a big reason why many academics and others who work in areas where getting facts RIGHT is key are disinterested in using LLMs for research:
they’ve tried it, they keep noticing major errors in output, and they conclude that having to verify all that doesn’t actually save them time.
