Let’s be clear on this: Danielle Smith is ripping up the Charter of Rights & Freedoms to take away rights from the most vulnerable people in Alberta. And she’s doing it to protect herself from the militant wing of her own party, nothing more. Hope it’s all she’s ever remembered for in the long run

It was clear from their opening statement that they were only considering whether the amended proposal met the DPB's own instructions. The important community concerns brought to them over two days of hearings? Not heeded.
Tragedy. Vancouver's Development Permit Board approved Beedie's #105Keefer.

But we'll keep fighting. The City of Vancouver *must* buy that site off local oligarch Beedie. Memorial Square is too important to the community. No luxury condo! #vanpoli

In an ideal society the leaders would be the wisest and most virtuous of people.

In a less than ideal society they would be chosen more or less at random, as by chance.

In our actual society, they are... well I'm not sure exactly how to describe it, but let's just say we are "totally fucked".
