If the government really intends to seize jewellery and other valuables from refugees,
either
- it is staggeringly ignorant of the historical precedents
or
- it's aware of the precedents, and thinks, yeah, we'll have some of that.

"Home Office officials described the plans as “the most sweeping reforms to tackle illegal migration in modern times”."

Almost all of the measures spoken about are to do with asylum and refugees, which is not a form of illegal immigration.

Resident Alien is a very average show, but that floored me.

Three points I keep repeating
1. Left and liberal voters actually really exist
2. The right and "centre" are trying to rule without liberals - they are way out over their skis
3. Reports of right wing total information control are greatly exaggerated

The EHRC's ‘interim guidance’ is transphobic, harmful - and legally wrong.

We’re in the High Court tomorrow to challenge it.

Why were folks miffed by Trump demolishing the East Wing, when there’s an entire second goddamn White House?

I think everyone needs to get a sense of perspective when it comes to Trump's threat to sue the BBC for 1 billion dollars.
What's most important here is not editorial independence, it's can the corporation survive long enough to reveal which old Doctor Who stories have been returned to the archive?

i hate the presumption that irregular channel crossings by asylum seekers are 'illegal'. it is not against the law to enter the UK irregularly for the purpose of seeking asylum. this is international law, to which the UK has been party to for longer than most people in britain have been alive

trans people are fucked and will remain fucked while you all care more about what bigots are saying and doing than you do about us ie the people they are bigoted against.

I can't beg you to share trans work, art, projects, campaigns, social groups etc etc etc any more than I already have.

Well this is a new experience for me on our chaotic railways. When I got on at Edinburgh, the carriage I am in was carriage D. Arriving into Newcastle, it's become apparent that it's now carriage J. The reservation information above the seats has changed. 1/2

Solidarity with @pcsunion.bsky.social workers at the British Library.

300 workers on strike. Some of them having to take second jobs or taking out loans just to be able to survive.

A Pay "award" below inflation is a pay cut. Unacceptable.

Solidarity - and keep organising! ✊🏼
