shit like this is the core of the damage the social internet has done to us

we have replaced actual expertise with "some dude with a podcast who makes you feel like his buddy while he bullshits into a microphone" and now a ton of people think that measles and chicken pox are the same
Yeah, this dum dum is talking about chicken pox.

Anyway, it's very cool and awesome that he has so much cultural and political influence.

Poltergeist, made even funnier by the fact that my Dad was who put it on.

Bernie, my people yearn for 64GB (2x32GB) of DDR5 memory.
Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO is like they turned LinkedIn posting into a podcast series. The embrace of video is also from shows repackaging footage into clips for short form content. Bartlett’s clips never mention who the guest is in the caption, which is “clever” and infuriating all at once.

I put this Pop-Tart Bowl photo on our Aura frame last year as a joke and then never took it back out of the rotation.

Finally watched K-Pop Demon Hunters and was just chuckling that they basically did a Dragonball Z spirit bomb at the end. Fun movie and love that Sony keeps pushing the stylistic edge on animation.

Our excitement for the evening was getting home and hearing beeping coming from our neighbor’s house. Thankfully he was out of town because his carbon monoxide detectors were going off. We were able to get in touch with him and called the fire department who came and shut off the gas.

Just completed the wildest Arc Raiders ever. Me and a random were fighting the Queen and took her down with 3 minutes left and then had to huff it all the way to the Water Treatment Elevator. I got there with maybe 2 seconds to spare to hit the button.

Bought this on my brother's recommendation and it fucking rocks. Agree with all the if you like these things this game is for you mentioned below.
SEKTORI is now fully ruining my life. If you *ever* responded to:

- bullet hell
- twin stick shooters
- Geometry Wars
- house music
- pretentious bullshit using the Evangelion typeface
- blowing up shapes
- shit everywhere
- Rez, Thumper, etc.

then RUN to this. $15. GOTY??? (PS5, XBox, Steam/WIN)
Drop everything and play Sektori
Sektori is phenomenal. It's also far deeper than it seems.

This is the second time in a week where I've seen Lutnick say something that would get an analyst at Cantor Fitzgerald, the company where he was CEO, fired and called a moron by their boss.

Everyone trying to one-up the Pop Tart Bowl. They really needed to somehow dump the beans out of the mascot and into the trophy.

Worth adding that post 9/11 especially, "national security" has become somewhat of a cheat code for the executive branch when it comes to beating back any checks from the judiciary. Not guaranteed to work every time, but the precedents are there.
Why does Trump want Greenland? “National security.”

Why should Trump’s ballroom vanity project proceed? “National security.”

Why is Trump killing the wind energy industry? “National security.”

Why does Trump hate the New York Times? “National security.”

The pattern is ... not subtle.
For the White House, ‘national security’ is becoming the answer to every question
Donald Trump and his team have a go-to tactic intended to shut down debate over their goals. It's not working.

Will note: this is probably the direct result of workshy Bari Weiss waiting until Friday before a Sunday air date to spike the story. International rebroadcasters probably get the recordings early to vet locally and run through local standards and practices. She forgot and no one told her :)
Oh yeah Global TV (in Canada or by VPN) has the full uncut 60 Minutes story on its 60 Minutes rebroadcast. CBS must have sent them the original tape.

Vince Zampella helmed Call of Duty at its peak and then cofounded Respawn, a studio responsible for some of my favorite games ever. Huge loss for the industry. Thoughts are with everyone who knew him personally.

Several things are happening at once here. Trump's saber rattling at Canada (51st state nonsense and tariffs) causing them to broadly boycott American spirits is compounding the fact the pandemic growth boom in bourbon has finally run its course, but many distillers realized that too late.
Jim Beam, America’s largest bourbon distiller, is closing its flagship facility for 2026 after more than two decades of rapid growth. The move underlines the immense challenges facing the country's whiskey industry.

As someone who has only ever engaged with Copilot by accident, I recently discovered that you can remove the button from your Home tab on the Office ribbon by removing the Assistance category under Options -> Customize Ribbon.

Can't guarantee this will work forever but it kills the button for now
