One of the purest examples of a moral panic in our time. A clinic that had years-long waitlists and required an average of 7 appointments before providing transition care smeared and shut down for being reckless.

The cut to Theo Vonn just saying "right" and nodding like an empty headed moron is genuinely funny.

this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where — at a bare minimum — they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

Trump's tariffs are the single largest tax hike in the postwar and it was done unilaterally without consent of Congress. Its actually outrageous when you think about it, and conservatives and Republicans just like accept it because yadda yadda daddy Trump. Unreal.

Carrying on the long tradition of law enforcement being given military tech they have no business in having.
According to multiple NYT sources, it wasn’t even military personnel at Fort Bliss that fired an anti-drone laser at alleged cartel drones. It was CBP who used the weapon on loan from DoD against a child’s party balloon they mistook for a drone. The Pentagon gave CBP an anti-aircraft weapon.

I've heard the price gouging for basics has only gotten worse since the last time we went a few years ago. I'd be perfectly happy to never step foot in Vegas ever again but have to go in a few months.
Las Vegas is the only place I ever travel for work where it's like a 30 minute walk just to find a convenience store for some basic ass AAA batteries

Telling your male coworkers that building the sexting/CSAM machine might be bad is DiScRiMiNaTiOn.

What likely happened here seems pretty obvious. OpenAI is in desperate need of revenue to even slightly offset their cash burn which means dissenting voices aren't welcome when push comes to shove.
In Jan OpenAI fired VP of public policy (safety) for discrimination against a male colleague. There are no details about the alleged complaint but she had raised concerns about the ChatGPT’s proposed adult mode and was vocal that co wasn’t doing enough to stop CSAM. She also led mentorship for women

Musk will be long dead before we are doing any meaningful manufacturing in space, and that's assuming he doesn't cause a Kessler Syndrome event first that traps us here forever anyway.
Elon Musk told employees at xAI, his artificial intelligence company, on Tuesday that the company needed a factory on the moon to build A.I. satellites and a massive catapult to launch them into space.

AI is devaluing knowledge work in real-time and anyone that claims this isn't going to cost jobs is lying to you.
Sources: KPMG negotiated lower fees from auditor Grant Thornton by arguing that AI will make it cheaper to do the work, and threatened to find a new auditor (Stephen Foley/Financial Times)

Modern conservatism basically believes anything that could make someone feel shame for their actions should be illegal. Especially when it comes to how someone makes money or if they are an agent of the state. In the case of ICE, it's both.
(the reason ICE wants to wear masks is that they actually know how unpopular this is and don't want to be identified as the people doing it)

Anime has so many absolute banger OP/ED songs that I listen to constantly despite only knowing a handful of words in Japanese.
my opinion on the Bad Bunny halftime show, and non-English music in general, is that i think a need to “be able to understand the lyrics” displays an embarrassing shallowness of the speaker to appreciate the voice as an instrument & to appreciate music as something other than a lyric delivery system

GrubHub isn't "eating the fees." They are just hiding it elsewhere or taking it out of the delivery person's pocket. They aren't running a charity.

Watching everyone convince themselves that the little boy was Liam Conejo Ramos is the type of thing I would expect from Threads.

The administration is already trying to deport him. Doing a stunt like that feels like it would actually make the situation even more dire.
