I will fill in the circle next to the name with the (D) on my 2028 general election ballot, regardless of whose name it is.

Hopefully it won't be Newsom's, but I guess we'll see what happens.
Will you vote for Newsom if he were to be nominated? Just curious.

Larian writing director says gen AI won't be used for the new Divinity game's writing

Says they tinkered at it for research, and it created work that was "at best" 3/10 in terms of quality, inferior to even his own worst human-written drafts

Larian CEO says Divinity could have gen AI assets in it but only if the tools are trained on the studio's own data.

Any studio that says they're only using their own assets for an A.I. model is lying to you, likely intentionally.

Generative A.I. models require an insane amount of existing work to create anything that looks new and decent. Categorizing said data would take years.

I was absolutely gung-ho for Larian as a blueprint for how the games industry could regroup and move forward.

Then their CEO started talking and now I don't even wanna replay the infinitely replayable Balder's Gate 3 again.

My new favorite video genre is people who’ve played so much Dark Souls they have to get really weird to keep their challenge runs interesting.

I’m counting down until I see “every time I die I swallow a piece of Lego” or “I beat Nameless King first time or I cheat on my wife.”

Based on the dialogue this week, seems like a fair bet that Bethesda considers the Brotherhood ending of Fallout 4 to be the canon one.

(sigh). Goodie.

From Dec 27th to the 30th we all kind of drift around under the impression that a holiday of some sort is still underway, like that feeling someone's in the house with you when you know you're alone, like a holiday's ghost.

For Christmas, Elliot and Nora joined forces and got me the Batwing from Batman Forever. I originally got this in 1995, since I deeply enjoyed the Batwing’s design in the movie. Alas, I was a kid, and it eventually degraded over time. Think I’ll keep this for display only. :P

This feels like how a very blunt and unsubtle Romero zombie movie begins.
“Rather than relying on an implant or a patient's own body fat to add volume to hips or augment breasts, alloClae — which can cost as much as $100,000 per procedure — uses donor fat from a cadaver as a first-of-its-kind body filler.”
Corporate types are clamoring for a new kind of plastic surgery — using dead people's fat
Corporate types are waiting weeks for — and spending big on — alloClae, which cuts out the recovery time typically associated with body enhancements.
